STORYLINE
Bloomsburg will close out the 2016 season with a pair of home game this week. The Huskies will host Molloy College followed by the season-finale on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against Shippensburg. Molloy comes into today's game with an 10-3 record. It is a member of the East Coast Conference and leads the ECC with a 7-1 conference record.
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will mark just the second all-time meeting ever with the Lions. The Huskies won the only other matchup by a 4-0 score back in 1999.
LAST MEETING
In the 1999 meeting,
Paul Payne's first season with the Huskies, Bloomsburg beat the Lions 4-0 at Lock Haven. Leading just 1-0 at halftime, the Huskies scored three second half goals to win easily.
LAST TIME OUT
Bloomsburg played to a 0-0, two overtime time tie with West Chester on Saturday. Goalie
Jacob Pesarcik (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) stopped seven shots on the day to post his second shutout of the season. Molloy got a goal in the 43rd minute of action to earn a 1-0 victory against Mercy College on Saturday. Steven Jimenez scored on an assist by Mosiah Whyte off a corner kick. Raul Bonilla stopped six shots in goal to get the shutout victory.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies are 1-1-1 in their last three games. For the year
Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) leads the team in goals with five and assists with two for a team-high 12 points.
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive) is second in points with six on two goals and two assists, while
Mike Bazadona (Courtdale, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) has two goals and one assist. In goal,
Jacob Pesarcik (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) has a 1.62 goals against average with a .782 saves percentage (79 saves), while Taylor LeSage has a 3.53 goals against mark with nine saves. For the season the Huskies have scored 15 goals and allowed 33.
SCOUTING MOLLOY
Molloy is 4-0 in road games this season. Following today's game they play at Philadephia University on Thursday. The Lions have scored 32 goals this season as a team. Kyle Poetzsch leads the team in goals with 13 and points with 31. He is also second in assists with five. Mosiah Whyte is second with 16 points on six goals and four assists, while Anthony Cestaro is third with 12 points on three goals and six assists. In all nine players have scored at least one goal this season for Molloy. In goal Raul Bonilla has a record of 9-3 with a 0.67 goals against average with a saves percentage of .862. He has allowed eight goals in 1072 minutes. Backup Stephen Tappeto is 1-0 on the year with a 2.28 goals against average and four saves in 118 minutes.
