STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team will conclude the 2016 season when it hosts Shippensburg. It will be Senior Day for the Huskies who will honor
Josh Smith (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg), Jacob Pecarsik and
Nick Geller (York, Pa./West York) before the game. Bloomsburg thanks these three players for the tremendous effort they have given throughout their careers.
On Thursday, Smith was named a CoSIDA Academic All-Region Selection and will now be eligible for Academic All-America honors. He was first team Academic All-America in 2015.

Shippensburg leads the all-time series against Bloomsburg, 25-20-3.
LAST MEETING
The last meeting between the teams was on Oct. 31, 2015Â with the Huskies winning a close 2-1 matchup at Shippensburg. The Huskies offense took control early in the contest when
Nick Izzo (Frankford, DE/Indian River) scored from 18' out into the top right corner of the net.
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive) was in on the action as well as he scored off a rebound from a goal kick in 22nd minute to increase the lead to 2-0. The Huskies outshot the Raiders, 22-11, with
Jared Ott (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) recording four saves and allowing just one goal. Robert Furfaro scored the lone goal for Shippensburg in the 82nd minute.
LAST TIME OUT
Bloomsburg last played on Tuesday afternoon and suffered a 6-1 loss at the hands of Molloy College. The Huskies scored early after
Tyler Madeira (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) received a cross from
Mike Bazadona (Courtdale, Pa./Wyoming Valley West). Madeira finished off the cross with a hard shot to the back of the net in 13th minute for his first goal of the season. After Maderia's goal, Molloy College kicked their offense into high gear and would score six unanswered goals. Molloy outshot Bloomsburg, 15-5.
Shippensburg got by Chowan in their last contest, 3-1, snapping a nine-game losing streak. The Raiders scored first in the 18th minute on a goal from Patrick Luebben, who finished the play off of assists by Colten Arnold and Jake Shefsky. The goal was Luebben's fifth of the season. The Raiders would later score again in the 86th minute off of a goal from Cole Kropnick. Chowan recorded an own goal in the 88th minute sealing the victory for Shippensburg.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies enter Saturday's season finale with a 2-12-3 overall record and a 1-6-3 PSAC conference record. Redshirt junior
Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) leads the team with five goals and two assists, totaling twelve points on the season. Freshman
Mike Bazadona (Courtdale, Pa./Wyoming Valley West)'s second assist of the year on Tuesday places him second on the team in points with six.
Jacob Pesarcik (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) maintains a 1.92 goals against average and ranks first among PSAC goalkeepers in saves with 82 saves on the season.
SCOUTING SHIPPENSBURG
Shippensburg has also struggled this season in conference play with a 2-8 PSAC conference record. The Raiders are, however, coming off of a victory that snapped their nine-game losing skid and are looking to keep the momentum going. Colten Arnold leads the team in scoring with six goals, eight assists, and 20 points. Coming in second on the team is Jan Striewe who also has six goals with 12 points. Garret Watson has started in 12 of 13 games on net this season and has a 1.28 goals against average with a .783 save percentage.
