GAME TWO BOXWILMINGTON, DE—The Bloomsburg University softball team had a big day in Delaware on Tuesday sweeping a pair of games from Goldey-Beacom College by scores of 5-0 and 11-0 in five innings.
Emily Mayhew (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) led the offense going a combined five for six, while the Huskies pitching staff allowed just six hits, including just one in game two.

In game one the Huskies took a 2-0 lead in the third inning. With two outs
Taylor Winkelman (Springfield, Pa/Springfield) doubled and scored when Mayhew followed with a single, taking second on the throw home. Mayhew moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on
Taylor Parker (Dewart, Pa./Warrior Run)'s double.

In the fifth inning the Huskies made it 3-0 when Winkelman doubled for the second time and scored when Mayhew again followed with a single.

The Huskies doubled their lead in the seventh. Winkelman again got Bloomsburg going by drawing a lead off walk and then stealing second. After Mayhew walked, Parker put down a bunt moving the runners up one base.
Mallory Tomaschik (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) delivered a single to center scoring both Winkelman and Mayhew. Tomaschik took second on an error the center fielder and moved to third on a wild pitch.
Alexa Erney (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) then singled home Tomaschik making it 6-0.

Parker was solid throughout retiring the final seven hitters she faced. The only trouble Parker ran into was having two runners on in both the third and fourth innings, but each time she escaped without allowing a run.

Parker went the distance allowing just five hits and one walk, while striking out six. Mayhew and Winkelman each went 2-3 with Mayhew driving in two, while Winkelman scored three runs.

The nightcap saw the Huskies roll to an easy five-inning win winning 11-0. Bloomsburg banged out 13 hits in the game while pitchers
Sarah Bortner (Glenville, Pa./South Western) and
Alyssa Davies (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) allowed just one hit.

The Huskies wasted little time getting the lead scoring three times in the first. Winkelman singled to lead off and scored on Mayhew's double. Mayhew then doubled scoring Mayhew for a 2-0 lead. Tomaschik then singled scoring Parker making it 3-0.

In the second the Mayhew doubled with two outs and scored when Parker reached on an error.

Bloomsburg broke the game open in the third scoring five times on four hits and taking advantage of one error.
Holly Peacock (Williamsport, Pa./Jersey Shore),
Valerie Carcasses (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat), Mayhew and Parker all drove in runs in the third. The Huskies made it 11-0 with three runs in the fourth.Â

Bortner went the first three innings to get her seventh win of the season, while Davis went the final two innings.

Bloomsburg, 17-4, will host Clarion on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at
Jan Hutchinson Field.
