StatisticsSTORYLINEThe Huskies and the Golden Eagles open conference play on Thursday with a doubleheader at Jan M. Hutchinson Field. The teams are moving in opposite directions as Bloomsburg has won three straight and five of the last six while Clarion has lost seven games in a row. The Huskies boast the third-best winning percentage in the entire conference (.810) while the Golden Eagles' .154 winning percentage is worst in the PSAC.
ALL-TIME SERIESBloomsburg leads the all-time series against Clarion, 19-0.
LAST MEETINGBloomsburg and Clarion have not played since the Huskies posted a doubleheader sweep of the Golden Eagles on April 26, 2013. Bloomsburg won the opener 10-0 in five innings and then completed the sweep with a 10-1 six-inning win in game two. Cait Paine pitched a two-hitter in game one while

Emily Mayhew (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) went 5-for-6 with five runs scored and four runs batted in.
Bridget Casey (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) leads the Huskies with a .360 batting average (9-of-25) with four doubles and seven runs batted in.
Taylor Winkelman (Springfield, Pa/Springfield) is currently hitting .357 (25-of-70) with a team-high 25 hits and four stolen bases. She is second on the team in runs scored with 19.
Taylor Parker (Dewart, Pa./Warrior Run) is hitting .343 with a team-best six home runs and a team-leading 25 runs batted in. She is also 5-1 in the circle with a 1.86 earned run average. The Huskies are hitting .311 as a team and are limiting opponents to a .211 batting average.
Sarah Bortner (Glenville, Pa./South Western) (7-3, 1.64 ERA) and
Mallory Tomaschik (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) (5-0, 2.14 ERA) are also off to great starts pitching. Tomaschik, in fact, is the reigning PSAC Central Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 with a 0.55 ERA in wins over Nyack and Millersville last week.
SCOUTING CLARIONThe Golden Eagles enter the doubleheader with a 2-11 overall record and have scored just 30 runs in 13 games to date. They are on a seven-game losing skid and have not won since defeating Elizabeth City State, 6-5, on March 6. Paige Baker leads Clarion with a .378 batting average (14-for-37) while Christina Tressler is hitting at a .361 clip with one home run and a team-high six runs batted in. Taylor Nonnenberg and Casey Wilcox lead the team with two home runs apiece. In the circle, the Golden Eagles have a team earned run average of 5.21. Rachel Hoffman has both Clarion victories and is 2-3 with a 4.34 ERA. She leads the team in innings pitched (30.2), strikeouts (23), and complete games (3).
