MILLERSVILLE- The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team lost a tight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest, 14-13, to Millersville on Wednesday. With the defeat, the Huskies fell to 3-3 (1-2 PSAC) while the Marauders moved up to 5-3 (2-2 PSAC) on the season.

Millersville jumped on the scoreboard first just 35 seconds into the game on a goal by Sabrina Fusco, but Bloomsburg responded with back-to-back goals from
Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) to give the Huskies a 2-1 lead with 26:26 to play in the first half.

The Marauders proceeded to score the next for goals and took a 5-2 lead with 23:30 remaining thanks to scores from Abby Mack, two from Renee Landis, and Jamie Damirgian.

Bloomsburg received goals from
Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) and Lindsay Coyle to cut the Millersville lead to 5-4 but another goal from Fusco pushed the lead to 6-4 with 13:37 left in the half.

Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) scored twice in the next eight minutes but the Marauders also tallied two goals in that span, and then added two more before the half to give them a 10-6 lead at the break.

Bloomsburg scored three of the first four goals to start the second half with goals from
Kate Shea (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional),
Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) and Coyle, and made it an 11-9 game in favor of Millersville with 22:38 to play in the game.

Two quick goals from the Marauders just 24 seconds apart pushed their lead up to 13-9, but Turner once again scored twice in a short period of time to make it 13-11 Millersville with 18:43 remaining.

Fusco scored once again for the Marauders to give them a 14-11 lead, but the Huskies refused to go away as Jaskuta and
Tracy Rusen (Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) each put a shot past the goalie to bring it to 14-13 with 10:46 to play.

Over the final 8:10 of the game Bloomsburg recorded three shots on goal, including one from Turner that hit the post and shot from Kyne with 21 seconds left that was saved by goalie Bryana Weston-Wyatt.

Abby Burnett made two saves in the first half while
Brittney Hegarty (Rochester, N.Y./Rush Henrietta) tallied two saves and gave up just four goals in the second half.

The Huskies outshot the Marauders, 26-20, and committed 21 turnovers compared to Millersville's 26 turnovers.
Â
Turner led the Huskies with four goals, four ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Kyne had two goals, one assist, three ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Tracy Rusen (Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) had one goal and a team-high three assists.

Bloomsburg will travel to play at Slippery Rock on Saturday in a PSAC matchup. Game-time is set for 1:00 p.m.
