STORYLINE
The Huskies and Crimson Hawks meet for the first time in 2016, as Bloomsburg is coming off a doubleheader sweep of Clarion (W, 4-1, W, 9-0), while IUP split its doubleheader (L, 8-6, W, 2-1) with Lock Haven on Thursday.

Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against IUP, 56-9.

LAST MEETING
The Huskies and Crimson Hawks have not met since 2014, when IUP defeated Bloomsburg, 9-0, in five innings during the PSAC Championships. The Crimson Hawks hit four home runs in the game as they chased Sarah Bertoni (Nanticoke/Greater Nanticoke Area) in the second inning. Mandi Baer, Taylor Parker (Dewart, Pa./Warrior Run) and Rachel Fredell each tallied a hit for the Huskies, whose season eventually ended in the NCAA Division II Atlantic 1 Regional Championships.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg is 19-4 overall and winners of five straight contests, most recently a doubleheader sweep of Clarion on Thursday by scores of 4-1 and 9-0. For the season, Taylor Winkelman (Springfield, Pa/Springfield) leads all qualified Bloomsburg players with a .368 batting average  and is second on the team with eight doubles. Taylor Parker (Dewart, Pa./Warrior Run) has a .352 batting average and a team-high 26 RBI. Parker also leads the PSAC in home runs with seven, more than triple her total from a year ago. In the circle, Sarah Bortner (Glenville, Pa./South Western) and Mallory Tomaschik (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) lead a pitching staff that is tied for the most shutouts, has the second-lowest team ERA and second-most strikeouts in the conference. Bortner leads the team with eight wins, 65 strikeouts and five complete games, while Tomaschik is a perfect 6-0 on the year with 37 strikeouts in 41.1 innings pitched.

SCOUTING IUP
The Crimson Hawks come into the matchup with a record of 11-7 and have won four of their last games contests, including a doubleheader split with Lock Haven on Thursday. For the season, Hannah Mercer leads the team with a .375 batting averae, two triples and 11 RBI, while Allison Viguers is second with a .327 average, two home runs and a team-high 12 RBI. In the circle, Brooke Darling leads the team with si wins and a 2.70 ERA to go along with 37 strikeouts. Following her is Lauren Zola who has four wins and 27 strikeouts on the season.
