HTML BOX SCORESHIPPENSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team picked up its first win of the year with a dominating 8-1 win over Shippensburg University on Wednesday in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division matchup.

The Huskies rolled through doubles play losing just four games. At number one
Gabriela Bachinski (Cascavel, Panama/Colegio Estadula) and
Lindsey Tennis (Quakertown/Quakertown) lost 8-1, while at number three
Anna Newcomer (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) and
Siena Cerra (Levittown/Neshaminy) also won by an 8-1 score. Â At number two doubles
Catherine Garrity (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) and
Cassandra Wentz (Windber/Winber Area) won 8-2.

In singles action
Lindsey Tennis (Quakertown/Quakertown), at number two, and Cerra, at number six, both won 6-0, 6-0. At number one Bachinski and Wentz at number four each posted 6-1, 6-1 victories. The fifth Huskies win in singles action came from
Meredith Endy (Hummelstown/Lower Dauphin) who posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory.

Bloomsburg, 1-4, 1-1 PSAC East, will host West Chester on Saturday at noon.
