HTML BOX SCOREMOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday afternoon, dropping a 19-6 decision at 17th-ranked Mount Olive. The Huskies dropped to 2-1 on the young season while the Trojans improved to 7-1.
Bloomsburg could never get anything going as the Huskies fell behind 9-1 in the opening 16 minutes of the contest. Sophomore 
Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) had the lone goal for Bloomsburg during the stretch - her seventh marker of the year.
Freshman 
Lindsey Coyle (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) stopped a string of seven consecutive Mount Olive goals with her fourth tally of the season with 12:34 left in the first half. Sophomore 
Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) also scored for the Huskies in the opening thirty minutes, her seventh of the year, but the damage had been done as the Trojans held a 12-3 advantage at intermission.
The hosts extended the lead to ten in the opening 26 seconds of the second half before freshman 
Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) and Turner scored back-to-back goals to cut the lead to 13-5 with 26:33 left. It was Jaskuta's fifth goal of the season while it was Turner's eighth of the year.
Mount Olive then eliminated any doubt in the contest, rattling off six straight goals to take a 19-5 lead with 4:19 left. Kyne added her second of the game, and eighth of the year, with just over two minutes left to close out the scoring.
Kyne led the way with two goals and an assist while Turner added a pair of tallies. Freshman 
Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) and junior 
Kate Shea (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) also had helpers.
Riann Daziel and Claire Wigler led the Trojans with six goals apiece while Alysha Kulka added five in the victory.
Junior 
Abbey Burnett (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) was saddled with the loss and was credited with two saves in 23:29 of action. Sophomore 
Brittney Hegarty (Rochester, N.Y./Rush Henrietta) stopped five shots in 36:31.
The Huskies will open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action when they host the Warriors of East Stroudsburg University on Tuesday, March 15. Start time from Steph Pettit Stadium is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
