BOX SCORELOCK HAVEN—The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team threw a scare into No. 13 ranked Lock Haven, but saw its comeback rally fall short in a 10-9 loss on Tuesday afternoon in PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) matchup.

Lock Haven jumped out to the early 2-0 lead scoring seven and nine minutes into the game. The Huskies were held off the scoreboard until 11 minutes were left in the opening half when
Nikki Fisher (Warminster, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy ) scored her 11
th goal of the year to make it 2-1.

The Bald Eagles then strung together the next five goals of the game before the Huskies'
Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) hit the back of the net with three seconds to go before the break with
Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) getting the assist making it 7-2.

Lock Haven extended its lead to 8-2 with an early second half goal before the Huskies started their rally.
Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) scored twice and Jaskusta once in a four-minute stretch to make it 8-5 in favor of the home team. Kyne assisted on two of the goals for Bloomsburg.

The Bald Eagles came back two of the next three goals in the game with Turner scoring unassisted for Bloomsburg to push the lead back to four goals at 10-6 with 6:05 to play. The Huskies, though, did not quit and forced a foul on Lock Haven giving
Kate Shea (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) a free position shot. Shea converted the attempt and it was suddenly 10-7 with 4:46 to play.

With time nearing two minutes to go,
Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) caused a turnover with Kyne getting the ground ball. Kyne then scored with 1:09 to play cutting the deficit to 10-8. The Huskies came back and won the draw control and went down and got another goal from Fisher with Kyne getting the assist with 30 seconds to play. Lock Haven, though, won the draw control and did not allow the Huskies a chance to get off a game-tying shot attempt.

Turner finished with three goals, while Fisher and Jaskuta had two each for Bloomsburg. Kyne finished with one goal and a game-high four assists. Kyne also had seven draw controls to lead both teams. Bloomsburg goalies Abby Burnett and
Brittney Hegarty (Rochester, N.Y./Rush Henrietta) combined to stop seven shots on the afternoon. Lock Haven was led by Rachel Engler and Jenna Dingler with three goals each.

The Huskies go to 4-8, 2-7 in the PSAC, while Lock Haven, goes to 11-2, 7-2 in the PSAC. Bloomsburg hosts Mercyhurst on Saturday at 1 p.m.
