SCOUTING BLOOMSBURGAfter starting the season with an 0-4 record, Bloomsburg has won three of its last five matches and is 3-6 overall and 3-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division standings. A win over Cheyney on Saturday would clinch a postseason berth for the Huskies, who leapfrogged Kutztown for third place in the standings with an 8-1 win over the Golden Bears on Tuesday.
Siena Cerra (Levittown/Neshaminy) and
Meredith Endy (Hummelstown/Lower Dauphin) have the best singles records on the team as they are both 5-6 on the season.
Gabriela Bachinski (Cascavel, Panama/Colegio Estadula) and
Cassandra Wentz (Windber/Winber Area) also have five wins each and are 5-7 overall. Both Wentz and Cerra are 4-1 against PSAC opponents this year. On the doubles side, Bachinski and
Lindsey Tennis (Quakertown/Quakertown) have teamed up for a 5-6 overall record. Wentz and
Catherine Garrity (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) are 4-6 while Cerra and
Anna Newcomer (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) are 4-2.

Cheyney last played on Wednesday and dropped a 7-0 decision against Coppin State. The Wolves have been blanked in all eight matches they have played this season - Millersville (3/29), Shippensburg (4/2), Kutztown (4/5), West Chester (4/12), and Coppin State (4/13). Cheyney is scheduled to play against Penn State Brandywine on Friday before heading to Bloomsburg on Saturday.
