GAME TWO BOXBLOOMSBURG—
Emily Mayhew (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) had a walk-off two-run double to rally the Bloomsburg University softball team past IUP by a score of 4-3 on Saturday afternoon after
Jan Hutchinson Field. In the game two of the day
Mallory Tomaschik (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) tossed a five-hit shutout to lead the Huskies to a 2-0 win. The victories improved the Huskies winning streak to 21 straight, its longest since a 22-game winning streak during the 2010 season.
Before the game the Huskies honored its two seniors,
Valerie Carcasses (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) and
Erica Keen (Gordonville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan), on Senior Day.

In game one the Huskies trailed 3-2 going to the bottom of the seventh inning. After two quick outs, Carcasses walked to keep the game alive.
Taylor Winkelman (Springfield, Pa/Springfield) also followed with a walk putting runners on first and second. Mayhew then delivered a ball to the gap in left center with Carcasses scoring easily. Winkelman, perhaps the fastest player on the team, raced around and easily beat the throw home to give Bloomsburg the win.

IUP took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning after opening the game with three hits in its four at-bats. Bloomsburg tied the score when Mayhew homered to left field for her eighth homer of the year.

The Crimson Hawks regained the lead with two runs in the top of the fourth to lead 3-1 before the Huskies got one back in the bottom of the inning. With two outs,
Kalynn Wheeland (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) walked with
Natalie Quinlan (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) bringing her around to score on a double to left center to make it 3-2 setting up the last at-bat heroics.

Mayhew finished 2-4 with three RBI, while Parker won her 10
th game of the year in thee circle allowing five hits and three runs. She also walked three and struck out seven.

In game two, hits were hard to come by with the teams combing for just nine in the game. The Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Winkelman walked to lead off and went to third when Mayhew reached on an error by the catcher. After a pop out, Quinlan brought Winkelman home with a single.

Bloomsburg made it 2-0 in the bottom of the second with another two-out rally. After two were out Carcasses singled and went to second on wild pitch. Winkelman then singled her home with a hit to center.

The Crimson Hawks did threaten in the top of the seventh getting runners to second and third with two outs. But Tomaschik struck out Lauren Goetz swinging to end the game.

Tomaschik finished with three strikeouts for the game and did not issue a walk. No Huskies batter had more than one hit with Winkelman going 1-2 with an RBI and a run scored.

The Huskies are now 35-4, 16-0 in the PSAC Central. Bloomsburg plays at East Stroudsburg on Wednesday starting at 2:30 p.m.
