th win of the year against one loss.
Â
The nightcap saw the Huskies fail to get the big hit as they stranded 10 runners and saw their 22-game winning streak end. After East Stroudsburg took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second, the Huskies had runners at first and second in the top of the third with two outs. Carcasses singled to left, but Tomaschik was thrown out at the plate trying to score.
Â
It stayed 1-0 until the fifth when the Huskies pushed across one run. Anna McElory singled and moved to second on a wild pitch. Carcasses then bunted McElroy to third where she came in to score on
Taylor Winkelman (Springfield, Pa/Springfield)'s sacrifice fly. Quinlan followed with a walk and took second on Parker's single. But East Stroudsburg got a pop up to end the inning.
Â
Bloomsburg left two runners on in the sixth and wasted a leadoff double from Winkelman in the seventh. Winkelman moved to third on a bunt, but was stranded, along with Parker who walked, after the Warriors got a short fly out and a ground out.
Â
In the bottom of the seventh East Stroudsburg got the game-winning run when Rae Holden homered to left with one out to send the home team to a win.
Â
Sarah Bortner (Glenville, Pa./South Western) was the tough-luck loser for the Huskies giving up just five hits and fanning five.
Â
The 22-game winning streak for the Huskies was tied for the seventh longest in school history. The school record for the team is a 37-winning streak in 1986 followed by a 33-game streak in 1995.
