WEST CHESTER—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team dropped its season opener to West Chester University in double overtime on Thursday falling, 2-1.

The Huskies, seeking their first win over the Golden Rams since 2010, played a scoreless first half with the PSAC preseason favorites. Bloomsburg held a 7-6 edge in shots in the opening 45 minutes, but neither team found the back of the net.

Bloomsburg got its first goal of the season in the second minute of the second half when
Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area) and
Allie Camp (Beavertown, Pa./Midd-West) both assisted
Erin Bielski (Sykesville, Md./Century) with her first career goal to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.

West Chester answered back in the 53
rd minute of play when Scarlett Walsh scored on a Kara Parvel assist. The shot was one of 11 for West Chester in the second half, while the Huskies were limited to three over the final 45 minutes.

Both teams played solid defense over the final 10 minutes of regulation with just one shot being registered by both teams sending the match to overtime.

In the first overtime West Chester held a 4-0 edge in shots and had one corner kick come up empty forcing a second, 10-minute session. In the second overtime the home team got the gamewinner in the 103
rd minute when Linzi Wolfe scored from Carly Henry.

Bloomsburg falls to 0-1, 0-1 in the PSAC, while West Chester is 1-0, 1-0 PSAC. The Huskies host Millersville on Saturday at 1 p.m.
