MANSFIELD—The third-ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team ran its shutout streak to four straight games with a 6-0 win over Mansfield University on Wednesday afternoon.

The Huskies have won four straight games, all by shutout, as it improved to 5-1 on the year. The shutout streak is the longest since a five game streak in 2011.

Bloomsburg got on the board in the 14
th minute when the Mahan sisters combined to give the Huskies the lead as
Geneka Mahan (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) assisted
MacKenna Mahan (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove). In the 19
th minute freshman
Ali McKay (Dover, Del./Polytech) made it 2-0 when she hit the back of the cage with a shot from 10-yards out to the right side of the goal. For McKay it was her fourth goal of the year.

The Huskies closed out the half with a pair of goals in the final 90 seconds of play.Â
Sam Peters (Harrisburg, Pa./Mifflin County) scored first unassisted followed by an unassisted goal from
Tali Wehner (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg).

In the second half the Huskies
Annie Klinger (Klingerstown, Pa./Line Mountain) scored her first goal of the year in the 65
th minute with
Abby Sauder (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) scoring just before the final horn to make it 6-0.

Goalie
Lindsay Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin), fresh off of being named the D-II Defensive Player of the Week, stopped four shots to get the shutout.

Bloomsburg dominated the game statistically taking 27 shots compared to six for Mansfield and had a 14-9 edge in penalty corners.

Bloomsburg will visit IUP on Saturday at 4 p.m.
