STORYLINE
Third-ranked Bloomsburg is coming off a 2-1 road loss to IUP on Saturday that snapped its four-game winning streak. Slippery Rock snapped its two-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over Bellarmine at home on Saturday.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series with the Rock, 41-2. The teams, though, have split the last four meetings with the Huskies posting a 3-1 win last year, while the Rock was victorious 2-1 in 2014.

LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies lost to IUP on Saturday, 2-1. Stephanie Halsted (Fairfax Station, Va./South County) scored the Huskies lone goal off an assist from Ali McKay (Dover, Del./Polytech). Bloomsburg's four-game winning and shutout streak ended in the loss. The goal allowed at 43:25 snapped a 323 minute streak of not allowing a goal.

Slippery Rock beat Bellarmine, 5-2, on Saturday. SRU found itself down early but was able to head into the break tied 2-2. The Rock then scored three unanswered goals in the second period for the win. Hannah Downing and Renee Rosenblum collected two goals each, while Megan McKay also recorded a goal and an assist. Savanna Robinson assisted on two of the five Rock goals. For McKay, her fourth goal for the season was also her 26th on her career. The goal moved her to first place for goals scored in a career at SRU.

LAST MEETING
In last year's game, Kayla Mack got the Rock on the board just 2:34 into the game before the Huskies rallied. Stephanie Halsted (Fairfax Station, Va./South County), Eleanor Kirby (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Whitney Kowski (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Regional) all scored goals for Bloomsburg.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies were ranked third in last week's NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) D-II Coaches Poll moving up from No. 8 in the pre-season.  Freshman Ali McKay (Dover, Del./Polytech) leads the team in points with 10 on four goals and two assists, while senior Sam Peters (Harrisburg, Pa./Mifflin County) is second with nine points on four goals and one assist. Halsted is third with three goals for six points. In all 10 players have scored at least one goal on the year.  As a team Bloomsburg has scored 21 goals. Goalie Lindsay Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) has a goals against average of 0.57 and a saves percentage of .882.  Cassel ranks third in D-II in goals against average and is fourth in saves percentage.

SCOUTING IUP
The Rock will be starting a stretch of five games today where it will face four teams in the NFHCA top 10. McKay leads the Rock in scoring with 10 points on four goals and two assists, while Rosenblum is second with six points coming on three goals and Downing third with four points on two goals. As a team the Rock has scored 13 goals and allowed 10. Golaie Nicole Bream has a goals against average of 1.67 for the year and a saves percentage of .778.

UP NEXT
This is the start of a three-game homestand for the Huskies. On Saturday the Huskies will host Mercyhurst at 12 p.m. followed by a matchup on Sept. 28th against Mansfield at 4 p.m.
