Men' Soccer Drops Friday Road Contest at Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team dropped its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match at Seton Hill 3-1 on Friday (Oct. 13).

The Griffins got off to a quick start, with Lloyd Davies setting up Henrik Berg just 1:11 in for the opening goal. The teams balanced the play out in the next few minutes before Berg struck again in the 23rd minute off an assist from Scott Fox. The home team took their 2-0 lead to the half.

Bloomsburg responded with a quick start of their own in the second half, after a Seton Hill infraction set up Tyler Madeira (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) for a free kick from 30 yards out in the 51st minute. Madeira's kick was knocked down by Griffins keeper Jacin Smith, before Rodkey established position on the doorstep and put it in over the top of Smith. Rodkey's first of the season cut the deficit in half.  The Griffins responded to double their lead 3-1 when Alex Dyson ripped a shot from the middle of the field at the top of the box. Dyson's shot was saved by Taylor Lesage (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) and it rebounded back into the crowd in the box. Louis Mason stashed it home for his third of the season. The Griffins would hold on for the win.

Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) fired four shots in the contest, putting two on net. Samuel Izzo (Frankford, Del./Indian River) also recorded three shots, while Brian Kilcoyne (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) and Brett Milden (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) each registered two. Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive), Kacper Grycel (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus), Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York), Duncan Mitchell (Glen Rock, Pa./Susquehannock) and Sebastian Callender (Middleburg, Pa./Midd-West) each contributed one. Lesage made four saves in the loss.

The Huskies return home on Sunday (Oct. 15) when they host conference rival East Stroudsburg for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at Bloomsburg's Steph Pettit Stadium.
