ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team picked up its first shutout win of the season on the road at Molloy 1-0 on Wednesday (Oct. 25).
The two teams traded runs and chances throughout the first half, when Bloomsburg made a push toward the Molloy net in the 19
th minute. A Molloy infraction set up
Samuel Izzo (Frankford, Del./Indian River) for a penalty kick, which he converted for his first of the season. Izzo's marker was ultimately the game-winner, as the Huskies picked up their second road win of the season and their third in non-conference play. Izzo along with
Mike Bazadona III (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West), Cater Luckenbaugh,
Brian Kilcoyne (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) and
Hamilton Rodkey (Verona, Pa./Penn Hills) recorded two shots in the contest, while
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive),
Brett Milden (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional),
Evan Novian (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield), and
Thomas King (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) each fired one.
Brock Gould (York, Pa./Red Lion) (1-0-0) made 11 saves in his first collegiate start and his first shutout.
The Huskies return home on Saturday (Oct. 28) when they welcome PSAC foe Pitt-Johnstown for Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at Bloomsburg's Steph Pettit Stadium.
