EDINBORO, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team dropped their regular season finale at Edinboro on Saturday (Oct. 28) by a score of 1-0.
The Fighting Scots out-shot the visitors 7-1 in a scoreless first half. Edinboro finally broke through in the 51
st minute when Danielle Chatten rifled a shot that was saved by Huskies keeper
Jenna Hawkins (Hamburg, Pa./Fleetwood). Ashley Mutkus was behind the defense in the box to score the rebound for her 16
th goal of the season. The Huskies went on to out-shoot Edinboro in the second half 8-4.
Jessica Supp (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) led the offense with three shots in the contest, including one on goal while
Lauren Hoelke (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional) registered two, putting one on goal.
Natalie Holmes (Laurel, Md./Archbishop Spalding),
Alexis Rostucher (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg),
Taylor Zucco (Glenwood, Md./Glenelg) and
Erin McIntyre (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) each recorded one. Hawkins (8-5-3) made three saves in the loss.
Bloomsburg (9-5-3, 8-5-3 PSAC) advances to the PSAC tournament, where they are the eighth seed. They will travel to play top-seeded West Chester on Tuesday (Oct. 31) for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
