STORYLINE
The Huskies look to begin conference play with back-to-back road games against two western Pennsylvania squads. While the Mountain Cats are currently not ranked, the Crimson Hawks are ranked 20th in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) preseason poll.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Huskies are 4-10 all-time against Pitt-Johnstown.
The Huskies are 18-23 all-time versus Indiana (Pa.).
 
LAST MEETING
The Mountain Cats defeated the Huskies 68-57 back on Nov. 19, 2016 at Bloomsburg's Nelson Field House. The Huskies fell behind at the half after scoring single digits in each of the first two quarters. The Huskies were unable to complete the comeback despite double-digit scoring from four Huskies including Meghan Corridoni (Exeter, Pa./Holy Redeemer) (14 points) and Alyssa Mack (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) (13 points).
 
The next day (Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016), the Huskies fell to the Crimson Hawks 68-58. Mack poured in a career-high 21 points, aided by 12 from Morgan Klunk and eight from Corridoni.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Bloomsburg fell to No. 16/23 University of the Sciences 69-44 Wednesday night. The teams played a fast-paced but low scoring first quarter, before the Devils took control in the second quarter out-scoring BU 25-15. The Huskies struggled offensively in the final two quarters, only scoring eight in the third quarter. The Devils maintained a lead of at least 20 all throughout the fourth quarter, and even stretched their lead to as many as 32. As a team, Bloomsburg shot 31.3 percent (15-48) from the floor, as well as 22.7 percent (5-22) from beyond the arc and a season-best 81.8 (9-11) from the free throw line. The Huskies hung around in the rebounding category, only falling short 30-28 including winning the offensive glass 7-3. Bloomsburg also got more production from their reserves, with the bench out-scoring their counterparts 27-23. Finally, BU out-worked USciences for second chance points 10-4. Individually, Saxton scored a team-high and career-high 12 points in the contest, shooting a perfect 2-2 from downtown as well as going 4-4 from the stripe. Myers and Lee each contributed six points, with Myers and Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) each pulling down a team-high five boards. Six other Huskies chipped in points in the loss.
 
Pitt-Johnstown picked up a 67-57 non-conference win Wednesday night (Nov. 15) at Salem University (WV). Olivia McCabe led all scorers with a game-high 14 points for UPJ, while seven other Mountain Cats contributed points. UPJ came back from a six-point first quarter deficit as well as a four-point halftime deficit to secure the win.
 
The Crimson Hawks' last action came back on Nov. 23 when they hosted West Virginia State and picked up a 72-47 win. IUP was led by two double-digit scoring efforts from Maura D'Anna and Audrey Stapleton. D'Anna finished with 16 points and also was one rebound shy of a double-double. Stapleton totaled 13 points in the win.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies are 12th in the league in scoring offense (62.0), while also being sixth in scoring defense (63.0). Mack leads the team in scoring, averaging 10.0 points per game along with Saxton's 8.3 and Corridoni's 8.0. The Huskies are also sixth in the league in rebounding (41.7 per game, fifth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in defensive rebounds per game with 31.0, and rebounding margin at +1.7. The Huskies are currently seventh in the league in rebounding defense, allowing opponents 40.0 rebounds per game Individually, Montana and Myers lead the team pulling down five rebounds per game. Saxton leads the team with eight assists. In two of their three games, the Huskies have held their opponent to shoot under 30 percent from the field.
 
SCOUTING PITT-JOHNSTOWN
The Mountain Cats are sixth in the PSAC in scoring offense averaging 67.0 points per game, while being third in the league in scoring defense giving up just 61.0 points per game. UPJ is fourth in the league in rebounding, pulling in 42.7 rebounds per game. They are also fifth in the league in rebounding defense, allowing opponents 38.7 boards per game. The team is led offensively by McCabe, whose 20.0 points per game is tied for seventh in the league. She also leads the league in rebounding, hauling in 14.3 boards per game for a double-double average. Her 30.0 minutes per game also lead the team.
 
SCOUTING INDIANA (PA)
The Crimson Hawks come into the matchup fourth in the conference in scoring offense (77.0 PPG) and also leading the league in scoring defense (50.5 PPG). They also lead the league in scoring margin at +26.5. Carolyn Appleby and D'Anna are tied for 20th in the league averaging 12.5 points per game. They are two of three players to average double figures in scoring, along with Lauren Wolosik who chips in 11.0 points per game. IUP also leads the league in rebounding, hauling in 52.5 rebounds per game. They are eighth in the conference in rebounding defense, allowing 40.5 boards per game. They are tied for third in offensive rebounds per game with 15.5, and also lead the PSAC in defensive rebounds per game with a mark of 37.0. their +12.0 rebounding margin is also at the top of the PSAC. Brittany Robinson is tied for eighth individually in the conference in rebounding, averaging 9.0 per game after a 15-board performance against West Virginia State.  Appleby leads the team in minutes per game, logging 28.5. Wolosik is the only player on the roster with double-digit assists (10). 

 
UP NEXT
The Huskies conclude play before the Thanksgiving holiday with their home opener on Tuesday (Nov. 21) when they welcome Holy Family. Tip-off is slated for 5:00 p.m. at Bloomsburg's Nelson Field House.
