MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team defeated Mansfield, 69-66, for its eighth win in 10 games on Wednesday night. With the win, the Huskies moved to 9-14, and 8-11 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference PSAC) on the season.

Morgan Klunk (Felton, Pa./York Catholic) recorded a career-high 26 points, to go along with five rebounds and four assists.
Alex Ross (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) tallied a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, while
Marissa Molnar (Erie, Pa./McDowell) chipped in 10 points.

The maroon and gold opened the contest on a 10-0 run with two a jumper and three-pointer from Klunk, and baskets from
Taylor Sneidman (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and
Alyssa Mack (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic).

Mansfield would eventually get on the scoreboard, but the Bloomsburg defense held strong and posted a 20-8 advantage after the first quarter. The Huskies would balloon their lead to as much as 28-13 in the second period, but an 11-3 run by Mansfield cut Bloomsburg's lead to 31-24, late in the half.

The Huskies would take a 34-25 lead into the break thanks to seven different players getting on the scoreboard.

In the beginning of the third quarter, Bloomsburg used a mini 5-0 run to push the lead to 39-25, thanks to a three-pointer from
Marissa Molnar (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and two free throws by
Taylor Sneidman (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley).

Mansfield would respond with a 14-6 run to cut the Huskies' lead to 45-39 with 2:43 to play in the third quarter. Tianna Jackson would score seven of her team-high 17 points during that period. The two teams would trade baskets in the waning minutes of the quarter, as Bloomsburg led, 51-45, moving into the fourth quarter.

The Huskies and Mountaineers battled evenly in the first half of the final period before five straight points from Alyssa Mullins made it a 59-57 game in favor of the Huskies.

Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area) responded with a three-pointer, and was quickly matched by Jackson from beyond the arc. Klunk's jumper extended the Bloomsburg lead to 64-60 with 1:26 to play.

The Huskies would nail all five free throws down the stretch, including four by Klunk, to preserve the win.

Bloomsburg will travel next to East Stroudsburg on Saturday for a battle with the Warriors, beginning at 1 p.m.
