LAST TIME OUT ...
Bloomsburg won for the sixth time in its last seven games when it knocked off West Chester, 81-68, at the Nelson Field House on Wednesday night. Five Huskies scored in double figures, led by sophomore Alyssa Mack (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) who poured in a game-high 20 points. Senior Morgan Klunk (Felton, Pa./York Catholic) (13), sophomore Marissa Molnar (Erie, Pa./McDowell) (13), senior Alex Ross (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) (13), and freshman Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) (12) joined Mack in double figures. Mack scored 18 - 12 in the fourth quarter - of her 20 points in the second half. Bloomsburg shot 54.5% from the field (18-of-33) in the first half and finished the game making 29-of-61 (47.5%) from the floor en route to its highest point total of the season. The Huskies also outrebounded West Chester, 44-35.

STARTING FIVE ...
1 - After a 1-12 start, the Huskies have won six of their last seven games and are currently in fifth place in the PSAC Eastern Division with a 7-13 overall record and a 6-10 mark in league play. While Bloomsburg is still only 16th in the conference in scoring offense at 56.5 points per game, the Huskies have shown vast improvement on the offensive end during the seven-game stretch. Bloomsburg is averaging 61.9 points per game during its last seven games and that includes a 53-37 win over Mansfield on January 11 and a 52-43 victory over Millersville on January 14.

2 - Defensively, the Huskies are ranked sixth in the conference in scoring defense (61.6) and have limited opponents to under 70 points in a game 15 times this season. Over the last seven games (six wins), the Huskies have allowed a total of 391 points (55.9 per game). Bloomsburg is tied for fourth in the PSAC in both opponents' field-goal percentage (38.1%) and in opponents' three-point percentage (27.9%). It also ranks second in the league in blocks per game (4.8) and fifth in steals per game (8.4).

3 - Senior Morgan Klunk (Felton, Pa./York Catholic) is on milestone watch in several categories - most notably in scoring. After scoring 13 points in the win over West Chester on Wednesday, Klunk needs 17 points to become the 21st player in school history to record 1,000 career points. Klunk has also moved into 12th place on the school's all-time list for career assists with 276. She needs two helpers to tie Dana Wieller (2009-13) for 11th on the list and four to tie Holly Curnow (1995-99) for 10th place. She is 17 points, 30 rebounds, and 24 assists shy of reaching 1,000 career points, 500 career rebounds, and 300 career assists.

4 - The Huskies have turned to some unsung heroes to contribute during the hot streak. Sophomore Taylor Sneidman (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) has started each of the last 11 games, averaging 32.1 minutes in those 11 starts, and is posting 6.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over her last 12 contests. Freshman Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) is the reigning PSAC East Freshman of the Week and is averaging 10.5 points and 5.0 rebounds over her last seven games while shooting 54.7% from the field during the stretch. And, sophomore Marissa Molnar (Erie, Pa./McDowell) has reached double-figures in scoring in back-to-back games - 14 at Cheyney and 13 vs West Chester - after hitting double figures only twice in her first 40 collegiate contests.

5 - The Huskies have a very young roster that features only two seniors - Morgan Klunk (Felton, Pa./York Catholic) and Alex Ross (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) - and no juniors. The rest of the 12-player roster is comprised of five sophomores, one redshirt freshman, and four true freshmen. One of the sophomores, Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area), joins the team for the first time this season. Barber was an All-PSAC Second Team selection and an NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) All-Atlantic Region Third Team honoree for the Huskies' women's soccer team this fall.

THE SERIES ...
Shippensburg leads the all-time series against Bloomsburg, 32-25.

LAST MEETING AGAINST SHIPPENSBURG ...
Bloomsburg jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the opening 5:44 but scored just 38 points the rest of the game and dropped a 63-51 decision at Shippensburg on January 6. The Huskies scored only seven points in the second quarter and were outscored, 23-10, in the third as the Raiders pulled away. Senior Morgan Klunk (Felton, Pa./York Catholic) led the Huskies with 15 points while sophomore Alyssa Mack (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) added 13 in the loss. Stephanie Knauer paced Shippensburg with 24 points and eight rebounds. The difference in the game was at the free-throw line - Shippensburg was 17-of-19 while Bloomsburg was just 7-of-12.

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS ...
After starting the season with a 5-5 overall record, Shippensburg has won 12 straight games and currently sport a 17-5 overall record and a 12-4 mark in the PSAC Eastern Division. Shippensburg has not lost since a 74-70 setback at Goldey-Beacom on December 16 and has not lost a conference game since a 78-56 loss at California (PA) on December 10. The Raiders ran their winning streak to 12 with a 71-53 win over Kutztown on Wednesday night. During the streak, Shippensburg has won all 12 of their games by at least 10 points. Shippensburg is tied for sixth in the league in scoring offense (70.2) and is second in the league in points allowed (56.5). The Raiders feature five players averaging double figures in scoring, led by Stephanie Knauer's 14.4 per-game average. Knauer leads the conference in field goal percentage (65.3%). Colleen Young (12.0), Logan Snyder (11.1), Morgan Griffith (11.0), and Lauren Gold (10.3) are also in double digits. Griffith is also ranked third in the PSAC by averaging 8.8 rebounds per game. Shippensburg, as a team, leads the conference in field goal percentage (47.7%) on the season.

HEATING UP ...
Senior Alex Ross (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) has hit double figures in scoring in each of the last five games and is averaging 13.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists during the stretch. Meanwhile, freshman Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) is coming off of a career-high 19 points at Lock Haven last Wednesday and is averaging 10.5 points and 5.0 rebounds over her last seven games. She has hit 29-of-53 (54.7%) from the field during the stretch.

MONTANA PSAC EAST FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK ...
Freshman Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) earned the first weekly honor of the season for a Bloomsburg player when she was named the PSAC East Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon. Last week, she scored a career-high 19 points at Lock Haven and averaged 13.0 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 61.1% from the field in a pair of Bloomsburg wins.

DEE-FENSE ...
Despite Bloomsburg's scoring woes for much of the season, the Huskies have been in a number of games because they have been able to keep their opponents off the board. Bloomsburg's defense has allowed 70 or more points in a game only five times and has limited its opponents only 61.6 points per game. That figure is sixth-best in the PSAC. Over the last seven games, in which Bloomsburg has gone 6-1, the Huskies have allowed a total of 391 points (55.9 per game). Bloomsburg is tied for fourth in the PSAC in both opponents' field-goal percentage (38.1%) and in opponents' three-point percentage (27.9%). It also ranks second in the league in blocks per game (4.8) and fifth in steals per game (8.4).

DO-IT-ALL ...
Senior Alex Ross (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) has done some of everything for the Huskies this season and leads the team, or is near the top, in almost every statistical category. She ranks third on the team in scoring (9.1), second in rebounding (5.7), first in assists (2.8), first in blocks (1.5), and second in steals (1.3). Her game has really picked up during the Huskies' 6-1 stretch. She has hit double figures in each of the last five games and is averaging 11.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.7 blocks over the last seven contests.

EPIC COMEBACK ...
The Huskies trailed at Kutztown, on January 18, by 17 points with 6:56 left in regulation - 15 with 5:27 left - but outscored the Golden Bears, 21-2, in the final seven minutes to pull off a stunning 68-66 win on January 18. Senior Morgan Klunk (Felton, Pa./York Catholic) carried the team on her back in the fourth quarter - she scored 12 of her game-high 20 points during the fourth quarter and had three of her career-best six steals in the final ten minutes. She was also 6-of-6 at the foul line in the fourth - 8-of-8 for the game.

BLOCK PARTY ...
The Huskies are second in the conference, and 24th in the country, in blocked shots per game (4.8). The Huskies have blocked at least four shots in 14 of the 20 games and have blocked ten shots in a game twice - against Chestnut Hill on November 22 and at Philadelphia on November 27. Senior Alex Ross (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) has taken over the team lead as she averages 1.5 blocks per game - sixth in the PSAC. Freshman Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) is tied for seventh in the league at 1.2 while freshman Meghan Corridoni (Exeter, Pa./Holy Redeemer) is tied for 13th as she averages exactly one block per game. Montana, Ross, and Corridoni have combined for 70 of the team's 95 blocks.

UP NEXT ...
Bloomsburg will start a three-game road swing beginning next Wednesday, February 8 at Millersville University. Start time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The Huskies defeated the Marauders, 52-43, at Nelson Field House on January 14, but trail the all-time series, 42-40.
