Bloomsburg, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team used 14 second half goals to defeat Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe Gannon, 21-15, on senior day Saturday afternoon.
 
With the win, the Huskies moved to 8-5 (5-4 PSAC), while the Lady Knights dropped to 3-9 (1-7 PSAC) on the season.
 
Rising to the occasion on senior day, 
Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) led the charge with six goals and one assist, while junior 
Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) added five scores and an assist. In goal, 
Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) stopped 11 shots and was a constant disruptive force around the net.
 
Bloomsburg came out firing after its' six seniors were honored before the game, scoring the first three goals in the games' opening minutes. 
Danielle Ward (Sussex, N.J./Vernon Township), Sydney Colins and Kyne each found the back of the net, forcing a Gannon timeout.
 
The Lady Knights responded with two goals in 20 seconds by Kat Martinelli and Leilani King, but less than a minute later, Collins answered to put the Huskies up, 4-2, with 22:20 left in the half.
 
From there, the two teams traded shots and turnovers for approximately 10 minutes, before Collins added her third score of the game to extend the Bloomsburg lead to 5-2 with 10:29 left in the first period.
 
Gannon made a charge in the final minutes of the first half, tallying five of the final seven goals scored before halftime to make it a 7-5 contest, with the Huskies in the lead at the break.
 
The Lady Knights continues their strong play to start the final 30 minutes, scoring the first three goals to take an 8-7 lead early in the half.
 
For the next 13 minutes though, the Huskies would assert their authority, registering seven goals to Gannon's two, and taking a 14-10 lead with 13:36 remaining in the game. During that time period, Kyne chipped in two scores, while 
Cailyn Gormley (Springfield, Pa./Springfield), Nikki Fishr and 
Lindsey Coyle (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) all found the back of the net for Bloomsburg.
 
Gannon added two more goals to get as close as 14-12 with 10:27 left, but would be unable to keep up with the scoring pace set by the Huskies.
 
Bloomsburg was responsible for seven of the next eight scores, including three by Turner and two from 
Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area), effectively putting the game away.
 
For the game, Bloomsburg outshot Gannon, 32-31, and committed just 16 turnovers compared to the Lady Knights' 20.

The Huskies are back home on Tuesday, April 18, for a PSAC matchup with Lock Haven. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
