Philadelphia, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University softball saw its' 10-game winning streak come to an end as it split a doubleheader at Philadelphia on Monday afternoon.

The Huskies won game one, 8-0 (5 inn.), before falling in game two, 4-2. With the split, Bloomsburg now sits at 21-13 (11-1 PSAC), while the Rams move to 16-21 (8-8 CACC) on the season.

GAME ONE RECAP

In the opening game, now-reigning PSAC Central Division Pitcher of the Week Taylor Parker (Dewart, Pa./Warrior Run) started in the circle and went the distance, striking out seven while allowing just one hit in the win.

On offense, Bloomsburg tallied three runs in the top of the second inning on two bases-loaded walks and then a RBI single by Taylor Winkelman (Springfield, Pa/Springfield).

Maggie Hall (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown) kept Huskies going rolling with a two-run home run after an Erin Smith (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) RBI single in the top of the third to make it a 6-0 game.

Julia Knight (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) and Holly Peacock (Williamsport, Pa./Jersey Shore) added RBI's in the top of the fourth to give the Huskies an 8-0 lead that they would carry through to their 10th win in a row. For Parker, it was her 11th win of the season.

GAME TWO*

The Huskies manufactured a run in the top of the fourth inning when Anna McElroy (Jessup, Pa./Valley View) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

That lead stood until the bottom of the sixth inning, when the Rams exploded for four runs to take a 4-1 lead into the final inning. The Huskies chipped away, scoring a run on an Emily Mayhew (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) double, but were unable to tie the game, and ultimately fell, 4-2.
