Bloomsburg, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team is back in action with a PSAC semifinal matchup against the Lakers of Mercyhurst on Friday, beginning at 11:00 .a.m.
The Huskies and Lakers last met in March of 2014, when Mercyhurst won by a score of 8-1.
Bloomsburg Match Notes
The Bloomsburg women's team enters the matchup with a record of 5-6 on the season, 4-1 in the PSAC. The Huskies are coming off of a 5-3 comeback win over East Stroudsburg on Tuesday evening in the PSAC quarterfinals.
Chloe Berridge (York, Pa./Dallastown) leads the Huskies with an individual record of 8-7. Siena Cerra (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) follows with a record of 5-5 on the season. The doubles duo of Cassidy Calimer (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Absegami) and Vitoria Nery (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Educandário Santa Maria Goretti) have gone 9-4, while Chloe Berridge (York, Pa./Dallastown) and Cassandra Wentz have posted a 2-1 record this year.
Mercyhurst Match Notes
The Lakers come into the matchup with a record of 16-1 (6-0 PSAC) an have won 15 straight matches.
Saioa Gomez de Segura leads the Mercyhurst with a 28-2 singles record and a 16-1 mark in the top singles spot this year. Additionally, Kayla Frost has posted a singles record of 20-5, while Annie Baich has collected 16 wins on the season.
In doubles, Baich and Gomez de Segura have teamed up to earn 17 wins and have not been defeated in dual matches this season.
