Millersville, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University baseball team lost both games of a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)doubleheader at Millersville on Saturday afternoon.
Â
The Huskies (21-23-1, 8-15-1 PSAC) lost the first game, 5-1, and fell in the second contest, 7-4, to the Marauders (31-14, 14-10 PSAC).

GAME ONE RECAP
Millersville raced out to a 3-0 lead after scoring a run in the first and two in the third inning, and never looked back, as Cordell Shannon allowed just four hits from the Bloomsburg lineup.
Â
Ryuta Amaike (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) started for Bloomsburg and went the distance, allowing four earned runs and recording three strikeouts.
Â
Blake Gular (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) put the only run for the Huskies on the board when he led off the top of the fifth inning with a solo home run to left-center field.
Â
Millersville would add insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth inning, respectively, off of a Jimmy Cain sacrifice fly and a Chas McCormick solo home run.
Â
GAME TWO RECAP
Tyler Benson (Montville, N.J./Montville Township) put Bloomsburg on the board with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning, driving in
Austin Edgette (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East).
Â
The Marauders responded in the bottom of the third inning, as Mitch Stoltzfus and David Summerfield each recorded a RBI.
Â
The Huskies would reclaim the lead in the top of the fourth with a RBI single by
Cole Swiger (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) that plated Benson.
Â
The Bloomsburg lead was once again short-lived, as Millersville scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on an error and a sacrifice fly to take a 4-3 advantage.
Â
Benson's second home run of the game tied things up in the top of the sixth, but a three-run triple by Summerfield put the Marauders ahead in the bottom of the inning, and for good.
