WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team dropped its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest at West Chester 4-1 on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 24).
The Golden Rams got off to a fast start in the 14
th minute when Giovanni Mowery found Doug Goitia and Goitia opened the scoring. West Chester doubled their lead in the 24
th minute when Jason Pixley headed in a cross from Brett Glasco. Nicholas Meola got in on the scoring in the 36
th minute when he torched the twine from 28 yards out on a free kick. Bloomsburg made a push in the offensive end toward the end of the half, when
Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York) found
Matt Goodall (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) for Goodall's first of the season in the 45
th minute. BU trailed 3-1 at the half.
West Chester controlled the game for most of the second half, and got a goal from Tyler Rapposelli in the 79
th minute to put away the victory.
In addition to Goodall's goal,
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive) registered a shot in the contest.
Taylor Lesage (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) made 13 saves in the contest.
The Huskies are back at home Oct. 4 when they host Shippensburg in a PSAC clash. Kickoff for that match is slated for 6:30 p.m. at Bloomsburg's Steph Pettit Stadium.
