BLOOMSBURG, Pa.- The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team drew with visiting Clarion 0-0 in a 2OT contest on a blustery Saturday (Sept. 30) at Steph Pettit Stadium.
The teams battled back and forth for the full 110 minutes, with Bloomsburg holding the edge in shots 3-0 at the half. The Huskies turned up the offensive pressure in the second half, out-shooting the Golden Eagles 6-1 in the period but were unable to get one to the back of the net.
The two extra sessions saw one combined shot from both teams, before the match ended in a draw after 110 minutes.
As a team, Bloomsburg out-shot Clarion 9-2, while holding a 10-0 edge in corner kicks on the afternoon.
Jessica Milligan (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) led the offense with two shots, putting one on frame. Seven other Huskies registered shots in the draw.
Jenna Hawkins (Hamburg, Pa./Fleetwood) collected one save in her fifth shutout of the season.
Bloomsburg (6-2-2, 5-2-2 PSAC) looks to defend home turf again on Wednesday (Oct. 4) when they welcome conference rival Shippensburg. The match is slated for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff at Steph Pettit Stadium.
