HTML BOX SCORE

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's volleyball team fell in straight sets at Shippensburg University on Friday night - 25-12, 25-11, 25-12 - in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division match at Heiges Field House. The Huskies dropped to 5-14 overall and 1-9 in conference play while the Raiders improved to 19-3 overall and 9-1 in league action.

The Huskies just couldn't get anything going against the PSAC Central Division-leading Raiders as Bloomsburg managed only 10 kills on the night while hitting -.088 for the match (10 kills, 19 errors, 102 attempts). Freshman Autumn Altland (East Berlin, Pa./Delone Catholic) led the Huskies with three kills on the night while freshman Mia Nicholes (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) had two. Altland and Nicholes joined fellow freshmen Bryn Stek (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin) and Gretchen Stenger (Hagerstown, Md./Clear Spring) as the only players to manage a plus hitting percentage against the Raider defense. Stek led the Huskies with five assists while Nicholes and freshman Grace Giza (Plymouth, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) combined for the only Huskies' block of the night.

Freshman Emma Van Arsdale (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) had Bloomsburg's only two aces on the night as she moved into fourth on the PSAC leaderboard in aces per set (0.47). Meanwhile, sophomore Alyssa Cianciulli (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) increased her digs per set average to 7.08 with a match-high 25 digs. Cianciulli remained second in the conference and fourth in the country in digs per set.

Gabriella Johnson and Kendall Johnson led the Raiders with 10 kills apiece while Emily Hangen posted a match-high 34 assists. Four Raiders reached double digits in digs led by Hangen's 17 while Kendall Johnson had two solo blocks and two assisted blocks to lead Shippensburg in that department.

The Huskies will look to regroup on Saturday afternoon when they head to Pitt-Johnstown to battle the Mountain Cats in another matchup against a PSAC Central Division foe. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
