EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team suffered its third straight setback on Sunday afternoon as it fell on the road at East Stroudsburg University by a 3-0 final. The Huskies dropped to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play while the Warriors improved to 9-4 overall and 6-3 in the conference standings.
Marcus Torgersson scored the only goal of the first half when he beat sophomore goalkeeper
Brock Gould (York, Pa./Red Lion) for his third goal of the season in the 21st minute. Jordon Ellison and Eddy Enowbi had the assists.
The turning point of the match came with 30 seconds left in the opening half when Bloomsburg got a red card and was forced to play a man down the rest of the way. The Warriors took advantage by scoring twice in the final 45 minutes to break the game open.
Enowbi scored his eighth of the year in the 63rd minute off an assist from Irvin Zucic. Then, with 3:31 left in the contest, Jo Panuccio made it 3-0 with his fifth goal of the year. Enowbi had the assist.
Gould dropped to 4-5 on the season as he was credited with five saves in the loss. East Stroudsburg's Will Boerema made two saves for the shutout to improve to 8-4 on the year. East Stroudsburg held a 15-5 advantage in shot attempts and held a slim, 5-4, edge in corner kick opportunities.
The Huskies will return to the pitch on Wednesday night, October 17, when they head to Millersville University for a match against the Marauders. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
