STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team hosts California (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon in the hopes of keeping its PSAC playoff hopes alive. With two regular season conference games remaining, the Huskies find themselves four points behind Seton Hill and Slippery Rock which currently are tied for the sixth and final playoff spot. The Vulcans, meanwhile, have been eliminated from playoff contention. Bloomsburg will honor its lone senior, Kevin Rodriguez (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove), prior to the opening kickoff.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
California leads the overall series, 14-10-4, against the Huskies. Last season, Bloomsburg earned a 3-2 victory at California with all five goals coming in the second half. Mike Bazadona III (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) finished with a goal and two assists in the victory while Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive) and Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) also added goals in the Huskies' victory. Cooper Amos and Eric Campbell scored for California. Taylor Lesage (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) stopped three shots in the victory.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg is mired in a four-game losing streak after dropping a 4-1 decision at Millersville in its most recent match on Wednesday night. Junior Tyler Madeira (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) scored the lone Bloomsburg goal on a penalty kick in the 59th minute which snapped a string of 341:22 without a goal. It was Madeira's team-leading ninth goal of the season and third via penalty kick. The junior leads the team in scoring with nine goals and two assists for 20 points. He ranks third in the conference in both categories and fourth in the league in points per game (1.43). He is also tied for fifth in the league in game-winning goals with three. Meanwhile, Luckenbaugh's three assists on Saturday gave him a PSAC-leading six helpers on the year. He led the league in assists with 11 as a freshman a season ago. Madeira is also tied for third in the league in game-winning goals with three. Sophomore Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York) follows behind with eight points on one goal and six assists. He is currently tied for third in the PSAC in assists - a category he led last year as a freshman. Sophomore Thomas King (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) is third with two goals and an assist for five points. Eight other players have registered at least one point on the season. Sophomore Brock Gould (York, Pa./Red Lion) has started each of the last ten matches in goal and is 4-6 with a 1.90 goals against average and a .736 save percentage. He is second in the PSAC in saves per game (5.30) and ranks ninth in the league in save percentage. Sophomore Trey Orner (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) started the first five contests and is 2-3 with a 1.80 goals against average and a .710 save percentage on the year. Orner posted the Huskies' only two shutouts of the season.

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA
California (Pa.) enters Saturday's contest with a 2-7-4 record overall and a 1-7-1 mark in the conference which has it in 11th place in the league standings. The Vulcans are coming off a 1-0 win over Pitt-Jounstown on Wednesday, October 17, as Mario Ulizzi scored his first goal of the season in the 39th minute to account for the only goal of the match. Lucas Exner (81:16) and Joseph Valeriano (8:44) split time in goal for the combined shutout. Exner turned aside three shots. California has scored only nine goals in 13 matches this season with Eric Campbell leading the way with three goals for six points. Conner Griest has two goals and two assists for six points to tie for the team lead in points. Paul Young, Jr. has added two goals and an assist for five points. Lucas Exner has seen a majority of time in goal and is 2-7-3 with a 1.51 goals against average and a .750 save percentage.

This marks the final regular season home game of the 2018 season. Bloomsburg will conclude the regular season at Caldwell on Wednesday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m. and at Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday, October 27, at 2:00 p.m.
