KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The 10th-ranked Bloomsburg University women's soccer team had its eight-game winning streak snapped but extended its unbeaten streak to ten straight (8-0-2) after playing to a scoreless double overtime tie at 12th-ranked Kutztown University on Wednesday afternoon. The Huskies, who moved to 12-2-2 overall and 11-2-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standings, clinched a home quarterfinal match which will take place on Tuesday afternoon against an opponent to be determined. The Golden Bears moved to 13-3-1 overall and 11-3-1 in league play.

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper
Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) was credited with four saves to move her record to 11-2-2 on the season. It was her PSAC-leading 11th shutout of the season which moves her to within one of tying the single-season school-record for shutouts in a season, currently held by Heather Hartman during the 2001 campaign. Jenna Bracken stopped five Bloomsburg shots as her record moved to 12-3-1 on the year.
Bloomsburg, at press time, remained in first place in the conference standings pending the Millersville-Lock Haven outcome which got underway at 7:00 p.m. The Huskies will host Edinboro University at Steph Pettit Stadium on Saturday, October 27, beginning at 5:00 p.m. to conclude the regular season. With a Lock Haven win or tie on Wednesday night against Millersville, the Huskies would need only a win over the Fighting Scots to clinch to top seed in the tournament. A Millersville victory and the Huskies would need a win and a Millersville loss or tie at Gannon on Saturday to secure the top seed.
