VESTAL, N.Y. - The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team dropped a 63-34 decision in an exhibition contest at Division I Binghamton University on Tuesday night.
Sophomore
Amanda Arellano (Mount Carmel, Pa./Mount Carmel) led the Huskies with eight points, including a pair of three-pointers, in just nine minutes off the bench. Junior
Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick), an All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Second Team honoree last season, finished with four points and a team-high 11 rebounds while senior
Alyssa Mack (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), also an All-PSAC Second Team selection a year ago, had six points and five boards.
The Huskies couldn't get shots to fall on Tuesday night as they shot just 14-of-58 (24.1%) from the field, including 7-of-41 (17.1%) through the first three quarters. Bloomsburg was 4-of-21 (19.0%) from long range and 2-of-8 (25.0%) from the foul line. Binghamton also held a 53-35 edge on the glass.
Kai Moon led the Bobcats with 19 points while Annie Ramil added 11 points and eight rebounds.
The Huskies will play at the University at Buffalo on Thursday night in another exhibition game before opening up the 2018-19 regular season on Friday, November 9, and Saturday, November 10, when they head to Kutztown University to compete in the Conference Challenge. Bloomsburg will play Fayetteville State on Friday evening before playing Lincoln University on Saturday afternoon.
