LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Trailing two sets to none, the Bloomsburg University women's volleyball team put together an impressive comeback as the Huskies rallied to win the final three sets to stun Lock Haven University on Tuesday night at the Thomas Fieldhouse. The Bald Eagles won the first two sets by identical 25-23 scores before Bloomsburg responded with 25-20, 25-23, and 17-15 wins in the final three sets. The Huskies improved to 6-20 overall and 2-14 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division while Lock Haven dropped to 9-16 overall and 4-12 in league play.
It was another night of firsts for the Huskies as they played in, and won, the program's first-ever five-set match while it also marked the first-ever road victory in program history.

Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll Catholic) had a huge night against her former team as she posted a match-high 24 kills while adding 11 digs, three total blocks, and an ace. Gomish took a whopping 84 swings on Tuesday night - double the next Bloomsburg player, freshman
Mary Kate Mooney (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II), who put up 42 attempts - but still managed to hit .202 for the match (24 kills, seven errors). Mooney, meanwhile, had 11 kills, 16 digs, eight service aces, four assists, and two total blocks in a sensational all-around performance. The eight aces was a season-high for any Huskies' player this season. Freshman
Mia Nicholes (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) reached double figures in kills for the first time in her collegiate career as she had 10 kills while posting a .320 hitting percentage. Freshman
Grace Giza (Plymouth, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) added nine kills in the victory.

Bryn Stek (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin) also set a new Bloomsburg season-high with 49 assists on the night while also chipping in six kills, eight digs, and two service aces. Sophomore
Alyssa Cianciulli (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) paced the Huskies with 36 digs on the night while freshman
Meghan Gehr (Parkesburg, Pa./Garden Spot) chipped in with a season-high 13 digs.
Lock Haven had four players reach double figures in kills with Breanna McDonald leading the way with 16. Gabrielle Stick had 15 kills and 29 digs but also had eight receiving errors as the Huskies tied a season-high 13 service aces on the night. Chloe Williams had 14 kills on a .481 hitting percentage and Veronica Morrison added 12. Kristen Nealon had 55 assists and Shaye Whiteman had 30 digs.
Statistically, like the scoring, was extremely even. Bloomsburg had 61 kills and posted a .164 hitting percentage while Lock Haven had 62 kills on a .170 hitting percentage. The difference in the match came on serves and at the net as Bloomsburg had nine blocks and 13 aces while Lock Haven had six blocks and four aces.
Bloomsburg will host Pitt-Johnstown on Friday night, November 2, at Shippenbsurg on Saturday afternoon, November 3, at the Nelson Field House. Start times are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively, and will conclude the inaugural season for the Huskies. Bloomsburg will honor a pair of seniors -
