STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team, which had its three-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday at Shippensburg, returns home to host Slippery Rock on Homecoming Weekend. The Huskies are ranked tenth in the Atlantic Region according to the United Soccer Coaches poll released on Tuesday. The Rock defeated Pitt-Johnstown, 4-0, on Wednesday to snap a three-game winless streak. The two teams are separated by just one point in the PSAC standings.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
Slippery Rock leads the all-time series against Bloomsburg, 13-11-5. Last season, The Rock defeated the Huskies, 1-0, in Slippery Rock with the lone goal coming in the 37th minute off the head of Luke Picchi. The Rock held a 15-10 advantage in shots with Taylor Lesage (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) making two saves for the Huskies. Jonathan Sharp stopped six shots to earn the shutout.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies had their three-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday as they dropped a 2-1 decision at Shippensburg on Wednesday. Bloomsburg is 5-5 overall and 2-3 in the PSAC standings - tied for ninth place in the conference but just three points out of fourth. Sophomore Thomas King (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) scored the lone goal for the Huskies on Wednesday - his second of the season but first since notching a goal and an assist in the season-opening win at Shepherd on August 30. Junior Tyler Madeira (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) leads the team in scoring with five goals and two assists for 12 points. Most of his damage has come in the last four games where he has four goals and two assists for ten points. He is in a tie for fourth in the PSAC in goals (5) and seventh in points (12). Madeira is also tied for sixth in the league in game-winning goals with two. Sophomore Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York) (one goal, three assists) and King (two goals, one assist) are tied for second on the team with five points apiece. Junior Mike Bazadona III (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) has a goal and an assist for three points, while senior Kevin Rodriguez (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove), juniors Evan Novian (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) and Matt Goodall (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall), and sophomore Kacper Grycel (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) have also scored goals on the year. Sophomore Brock Gould (York, Pa./Red Lion) has started each of the last five matches in goal and is 3-2 with a 1.60 goals against average and an .771 save percentage. Sophomore Trey Orner (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) started the first five contests and is 2-3 with a 1.80 goals against average and a .710 save percentage on the year.

SCOUTING SLIPPERY ROCK
Slippery Rock enters Saturday's contest with a 4-5-2 overall record and a 2-2-1 record in conference play. Slippery Rock is tied for seventh in the league with seven points - one point ahead of the Huskies. The 4-0 victory over Pitt-Johnstown on Wednesday saw it snap their three-match winless streak after losing games to East Stroudsburg and Gannon while tying Seton Hill. Alexander Vilchek led Slippery Rock over the Mountain Cats as he scored a pair of goals while Moshen Kanani and George Oakley provided the other two markers in the win. Oakley (two goals, three assists) and Luke Picchi (three goals, one assist) are tied for the team lead in scoring with seven points apiece. Vilcheck trails them with six points on two goals and two assists. Omar Bangura and Hayden Seifert have also contributed with four points each as they both have a goal and two assists. In net, Matt Hunsberger has started all 11 matches and has posted a record of 4-5-2. He ranks fourth in the PSAC for goals against (1.06), third in save percentage (.806), and is tied in the league lead in shutouts with four.

The Huskies will return to action on Tuesday, October 9, when they head to Lakewood, New Jersey, to battle Georgian Court University in a non-conference contest. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
