HTML BOX SCORE

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team dropped its fourth consecutive game on Wednesday night as it fell at Slippery Rock University, 90-72, at the Morrow Field House. The Huskies dropped to 3-6 overall and 1-4 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division while The Rock improved to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC West.

Freshman sensation Travis Elmore (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) continued to impress on Wednesday night as he recorded a career-high 23 points to go along with nine rebounds. He was 9-of-16 from the field and 5-of-8 from the line en route to his first collegiate 20-point effort. Elmore has now reached double digits in each of his first nine collegiate contests.

Fellow freshman Sekou Fofana (Upper Darby, Pa./Springfield Commonwealth) added 12 points in 17 minutes off the bench while junior Ky Mauras (Reading, Pa./Reading) also finished in double figures with 10 points. Junior Austin Harriott (Philadelphia, Pa./Hun School) had a solid all-around line as he scored eight points, grabbed a team-high ten rebounds, led the team with five assists, and also blocked a pair of shots.

The Huskies had a one-point lead, 5-4, after sophomore Ethan Houston (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) hit a three-pointer with 16:50 left in the opening half. Then, after Slippery Rock's Micah Till converted a three-point play to give the hosts a 7-5 lead, redshirt senior Darius Robinson-Wallace (Philadelphia, Pa./Delaware Valley Charter) got a tip-in to tie the game at 7-7. The game would later be tied at 11-11 before Jared Armstrong hit a jumper with 13:18 left in the opening half to give Slippery Rock the lead for good. The Rock extended the lead to ten late in the first half before the Huskies went on a little run to trim the lead to 41-36 at halftime.

The Rock, however, scored the first eight points of the second half to extend the lead to 49-36 with 17:43 left in regulation. The lead was in double figures for much of the half except when Bloomsburg trimmed the advantage to nine, 60-51, with 10:27 left after Elmore hit a layup. But, Slippery Rock scored six of the game's next eight points to build the lead back up to 13 with 8:44 remaining.

Bloomsburg shot 27-of-69 (39.1%) from the field and continued to struggle from beyond the arc where it went 4-of-21 (19.0%) on the night. The Huskies were 14-of-21 (66.7%) from the foul line. Slippery Rock was 35-of-73 (47.9%) from the field and hit 8-of-19 (42.1%) from long range. The Rock was 12-of-17 (70.6%) from the stripe.

Till led The Rock with 29 points and 13 rebounds while Armstrong and John Warren II added 13 points apiece.

Bloomsburg will be off until returning to the Nelson Field House on Wednesday, January 2, when it hosts Lock Haven University in the first inter-divisional contest of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
