STORYLINE
Having locked up the eastern division's No. 5 seed in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) tournament, the Huskies look to keep their momentum and win their seventh straight at Shippensburg on Saturday (Feb. 21). Shippensburg is the No. 6 seed right now, with this being the regular season finale for both teams.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will be the 64th all-time meeting between the two programs. Shippensburg holds a 38-25 lead in the series.
 
LAST MEETING
Shippensburg defeated Bloomsburg 83-64 back on Jan. 24 at the Nelson Field House. Shippensburg led 21-12 after one quarter, with Bloomsburg keeping the game within one possession for most of the frame. After the second quarter began, Ariel Jones scored a layup to re-gain the Raiders' double-digit lead. In the second, Shippensburg led by as many as 15 while not letting the lead below double-digits. They out-scored Bloomsburg 19-15 in the quarter and led 40-27 after 20 minutes. The lead would grow in the third quarter for the Raiders, as they led many as 21 and did not let the lead under 16. The Raiders would win the third quarter 20-13. The Huskies would trim into the deficit in the final frame, but the Raiders would still hold their double-digit lead until the final horn. As a team, Bloomsburg shot 37.9 percent (22-58) from the field, 33.3 percent (6-18) from three-point range and 77.8 percent (14-18) from the foul line. The Huskies scored 24 points in the paint, 16 off turnovers and two off of fast breaks. Bloomsburg out-scored Shippensburg 12-8 in second chance points, and also 28-14 off the bench. Emma Saxton (York, Pa./Central York) led the Huskies with 15 points, while Marissa Molnar (Erie, Pa./McDowell) added 10. Nine other Huskies scored in the loss. BU pulled down 28 rebounds in the game, led by five from Darcy Lee (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle). Saxton was the only Husky to play at least 30 minutes on the night, logging a total of 34. Molnar tied career-highs with four field goals and three assists on the night, while also logging a career-best 29 minutes. Meghan Corridoni (Exeter, Pa./Holy Redeemer) marked a new career-high in blocks with four, while Saxton recorded a career-high three steals. Amanda Arellano (Mt. Carmel, Pa./Mt. Carmel) recorded four steals on the night for a new career-high, while Marianna Maldonado (Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) scored a career-high seven in the contest. Bella Ricci (Etters, Pa./Red Land) logged a career-best 14 minutes, while Lauren Oeth (Doylestown, Pa./Germantown Academy) set a new career-high from the free throw line going 5-6.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Bloomsburg notched their sixth straight win with a 62-44 victory at Mansfield on Wednesday night (Feb. 21). The two teams played a low-scoring first quarter that left Bloomsburg up 12-10. The Huskies went up 6-0 in the first 4:17, before Mansfield rebounded in the later minutes of the frame to make it close. Mansfield would win the second quarter 17-12 to take a 27-24 lead to the half. Bloomsburg out-scored Mansfield 14-8 in the third quarter to ultimately take the lead for good in the game. The Huskies offense exploded in the final frame to out-score Mansfield 24-9, and totaling 38-17 in the half. The Huskies shot 41.9 percent (18-43) from the field, 42.9 percent (6-14) from long range and 90.9 percent (20-22) from the foul line. The Huskies won the battle in the paint 16-10, while also scoring 13 points off turnovers and two points off of second chances. The BU bench also out-scored their counterparts 19-8. Molnar's 17 points led the Huskies, with all of them coming in the second half. She was also a team-best 5-7 from three-point range. Corridoni was the other Husky in double figures with 12 points on a 5-6 shooting day. Seven other Huskies scored in the win. Bloomsburg finished with a 37-31 edge in rebounds, including a 33-21 edge on the defensive glass. Corridoni was the team's leading rebounder on the night with nine, falling one short of a double-double. Molnar also dished out a team-high two assists, Lee recorded the lone block and Saxton registered a team-high and tied her career-high with three steals. Saxton also played a team-high 32 minutes on the night.
 
Shippensburg dropped their PSAC contest at West Chester Wednesday night (Feb. 21) by a score of 79-65. The Raiders were out-scored 21-10 in the first quarter, and 21-16 in the second quarter to leave West Chester up 42-26 at the half. Shippensburg answered in a big way by winning the third quarter 23-12, but West Chester wrapped up the victory by winning the fourth quarter 25-16. Jones was the lone double-figure scorer for Shippensburg on the night, with a game-high 26 points.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
As a team, Bloomsburg shoots 41.2 percent from the field, 29.7 percent from three-point range and 65.7 percent from the free throw line. BU scores 59.6 points per game, while having the fifth-best scoring defense in the PSAC giving up an average of 62.9 points per game. Alyssa Mack (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) is the team's leading scorer with an average of 9.9 points per game, while Montana scores 9.1 points per game. The Huskies grab 36.9 rebounds per game, while having the sixth-best rebounding defense in the PSAC allowing opponents just 37.3 rebounds per game. Montana is the team's leading rebounder, pulling down an average of 6.2 boards per game. Mack is the team's assist leader with 54, while Saxton (50) is the only other player with at least 50 helpers on the season. Saxton is the team's leader in steals with 21, while six others have recorded at least 10. Corridoni leads the team in blocks with 28, while Montana is second on the team with 20. Saxton is the team's leader in playing time, averaging 24.9 minutes per game. Corridoni (21.4), Montana (21.3) and Mack (21.1) are the only others to average at least 20 minutes per game.
 
SCOUTING SHIPPENSBURG
As a unit, the Raiders shoot 42.6 percent from the floor, 28.2 percent from long range and 72.1 percent from the charity stripe. The Raiders score 66.4 points per game, while giving up 69.9 points per game. Jones leads the team and the conference in scoring, pouring an average 21.8 points per game. Victoria Blackburn is the other Raider scoring in double figures with an average of 10.5 points per game. As a team, Shippensburg pulls down 36.4 rebounds per game, while having the eighth-best rebounding defense in the league limiting opponents to 37.7 rebounds per game. Kryshell Gordy leads the Raiders individually on the glass, grabbing 8.4 boards per game. Blackburn's team-high 81 assists are eighth in the conference, while six others have dished out at least 10 assists on the season. Jones is the team's leader in steals with 57, which is the 11th-highest total in the conference. Five others have at least 10 steals on the season. Kristin McGeough's 42 blocks are the fifth-highest total in the conference, while three others have totaled double-digit rejections this season. Blackburn is the team's minutes leader on the season, averaging 34.3 minutes per game. Jones (34.1), Gordy (33.9) and Kasey Engle (33.1) are the other Raiders to log at least 30 minutes per game.

Bloomsburg will move on to the PSAC tournament first round on Monday (Feb. 26), with an opponent, site and time to be announced.
