STORYLINE
The Huskies head south for Spring Break to face some tough competition from around the country.  
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will be the first all-time meeting between Bloomsburg and Southern New Hampshire.
 
This will be the first all-time meeting between Bloomsburg and Rollins.
 
Bloomsburg and Post have met one time previously, with Bloomsburg taking the only win in the all-time series.

LAST TIME OUT
Bloomsburg took one out of three games on Saturday (Mar. 10) in Salem Va., defeating Wheeling Jesuit 12-3 in five innings before dropping an 8-4 decision to Chowan and a 9-1 game to West Virginia Wesleyan. Against Wheeling Jesuit, the Huskies scored 12 runs on 14 hits, while committing three errors in the win. Kalynn Wheeland (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) led the Huskies with three hits, while four others collected two hits apiece. Maggie Hall (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown) and Alexa Erney (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) each had one hit in the win, while Erney's four RBI were a game-high. Marissa Shelhamer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) drove in three runs, while three others drove in one apiece. Four Huskies each scored two runs in the win, while another four each scored once. Alyssa Davies (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) (2-0) got the win in the circle, allowing two earned runs on five hits in three innings while issuing one walk. Tara Baney (Howard, Pa./Bellefonte) tossed two innings in relief allowing one unearned run on one hit while allowing one walk. In the loss to Chowan, the Huskies scored their four runs on 11 total hits, while committing two errors. Emily Mayhew (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge), Wheeland and Nicolette Ray (Abington, Pa./Abington) each recorded two hits in the loss, while five others contributed one hit each. Mayhew and Ashli Venokur (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) collected the RBI in the game, while Mayhew scored twice and Taylor Winkelman (Springfield, Pa/Springfield) and Venokur each scored one run. Abby Wild (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) (2-1) took the loss against Chowan in two innings allowing three earned runs on two hits while walking two and striking out one. Baney tossed four innings in relief allowing five runs, two earned on six hits along with three walks and four strikeouts. Hall paced the offense in the loss to West Virginia Wesleyan with two hits in the loss, while five others recorded one hit apiece. Davies (2-1) got hung with the loss, allowing three earned runs on five hits in 3.1 innings. She notched one strikeout in the effort. Erin Smith (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) and Wild also made relief appearances in the contest.
 
Southern New Hampshire continued their winning streak with a sweep of their doubleheader back on Saturday (Mar. 10) with a 4-0 win over Notre Dame (Ohio) and an 8-5 win over Caldwell. Against Notre Dame, SNHU scored once in the first, once in the third and twice in the fifth to get the win. Sarah Lavallee was the lone Penman with two hits in the game, and she also drove in two runs and scored once. Four others recorded hits in the win. Maddy Barone fired a complete game shutout for her fourth win of the season, allowing six hits and punching out five. In the second game, SNHU would score twice in the third before Caldwell would cut their deficit in half with one run in the fourth. Caldwell would plate four runs in the top of the fifth, before Southern New Hampshire would rally for three runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings to secure the come-from-behind win. Erin Garczynski was a game-best 3-4 on the day with five RBI, while Jordan Wade also collected two hits, two RBI and two runs scored. Four others tallied one hit apiece in the win. Barone (5-0) got the win in two innings of relief, allowing one hit in the appearance while walking one and striking out two. Lavallee started the game throwing 4.1 innings allowing five runs, two earned on four hits while recording one strikeout before being lifted for Ali Atherton. Atherton contributed 0.2 innings with two walks.
 
Rollins last played on Saturday (Mar. 10) when they split a Sunshine State Conference (SSC) doubleheader with Florida Southern, winning game one 7-6 and dropping game two 7-0. In game one, Florida Southern doubled up Rollins 2-1 in each of the first two innings, before Rollins hung three on the board in the third to take a 5-4 lead. Rollins would score once in the fourth and once in the seventh to hang on for the win. Jordan Davis and Chandler Middlebrook each tallied two hits in the win, while five others had one hit each. Four different Tars recorded RBI in the win. Grace Street (8-3) collected the win in the circle, allowing six runs, four earned on seven hits while walking and striking out three apiece. In game two, the Tars were held to just two hits coming from Brianne Lint and Brianna Ernst. Abby Summers (8-9) took the loss in the circle, allowing six earned runs on 10 hits in 4.2 innings while striking out two. Erin Crawford tossed 1.1 innings of relief, allowing one earned run on two hits.
 
Post played last on Sunday (Mar. 11), where they dropped a 5-2 game to Minnesota Crookston and an 8-2 game to Bemidji State.
 
Slippery Rock won its last two games back on Sunday (Mar. 11) shutting out Illinois Springfield 4-0 and defeating Saint Michael's College 12-4 in six innings. Against Illinois Springfield, the game remained scoreless until the fifth. The Rock scored once in the fifth, once in the sixth and twice in the seventh to get the win. Four players recorded two hits each, and another three each contributed one hit. Becca Roesch launched a home run in the win while driving in two runs and scoring twice herself. Brooke Dawson (3-3) got the win in the circle firing a complete game shutout while allowing three hits and two walks and also striking out three. Against Saint Michael's, The Rock started the scoring early with one run in the first and three in the second. After a Saint Michael's run in the third, SRU scored three in the bottom of the fourth to stretch their lead. Saint Michael's put three more on the board in the fifth, before a five-run bottom of the sixth for The Rock ended the game due to mercy rule. Six players tallied two hits apiece, while another three chipped in one hit. Emily Nagle's four RBI were a game-high, while six others drove in runs in the win. Paige Flore (2-0) got the win in the circle, allowing one earned run on four hits while walking and striking out two each. Camie Shumaker notched two innings of relief, allowing three runs on three hits while recording one walk and one strikeout.
 
Wayne State shut out Caldwell 3-0 and defeated Jefferson 13-3 in five innings in their last games on Sunday (Mar. 11). The game against Caldwell was scoreless until the sixth when the Warriors struck for their three runs. Kristen Lucas led the offense with two hits, while five others tallied one hit each. Ashley Messina recorded two RBI on a pinch hit single. Megan Guitar drove home the other run. Guitar (3-2) also got the win in the circle with a complete game shutout where she allowed only three hits while striking out two. Against Jefferson, the Warriors scored four runs in the first, one in the second, three in the third and five in the fourth while allowing one in the second, fourth and fifth innings to shorten the game by mercy rule. Hannah McClounie led the Warrior offense with three hits and four RBI, while also scoring two runs. Three other Warriors recorded two hits each, while another seven contributed one hit apiece in the win. Bryanna Kressler (2-1) got the win in the circle, allowing two unearned runs on seven hits in four innings while striking out two. Presly Buchanan tossed one inning of relief in the game, allowing one run on one hit with three walks.
 
Sioux Falls (S.D.) dropped both their games on Sunday (Mar. 11), falling to Caldwell 3-0 and No. 20 Indianapolis 8-4.
 
Northwood fell to Lock Haven Monday morning (Mar. 12) by a score of 9-7. Northwood scored first with one run in the first, before Lock Haven scored five runs in the second and two in the third. The Timberwolves responded with six runs in the third to tie the game at seven, before being held scoreless the rest of the way. Lock Haven would score twice in the top of the sixth. Karli Godlewski led the offense with a 3-5 day, while Tara Gross and Sydni Culps each had two hits in the loss. Culps and Abby Joseph each drove in two runs, while Gross and Lauren Castellon each brought home one. Shayna Frank (2-1) took the loss in the circle, throwing five innings of relief allowing three runs on five hits. She walked one and punched out six in the effort. Makenzie Norton got the start for Northwood, allowing six runs, two earned on five hits in two innings while walking three.
 
Purdue University-Northwest last played on Monday against St. Thomas Aquinas and No. 20 Indianapolis. The result against St. Thomas Aquinas is not yet available and the Pride dropped the second game to No. 20 UIndy 4-3.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
As a team, the Huskies are hitting .335 which is third in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). BU is also third in the league in slugging percentage .482 and on-base percentage (OBP) at .379. The Huskies are fifth in the league with 16 doubles and tied for fifth with four home runs. Wheeland and Venokur are leading the team with identical .647 batting averages, while being tied for second in the league. The two are also tied for the team lead in slugging percentage with a mark of .941. Wheeland leads the team in OBP with a mark of .652, while Venokur sits a .611. The Huskies own a 5.84 earned run average (ERA) as well as a .295 batting average against. Davies and Wild each have two wins on the season, while Baney holds a 1.20 ERA through four appearances totaling 11.2 innings pitched. As a team, Bloomsburg is also fielding .939.
 
SCOUTING SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
Southern New Hampshire is sixth in the Northeast 10 (NE-10) in batting average with a mark of .274, while being fifth in slugging percentage at .381. Their .330 OBP is also eighth in the conference. Brittany Perdigao's .412 batting average leads the team and is tied for eighth in the league. Garczynski's mark of .389 is second on the team and 13th individually in the conference. SNHU's 1.01 ERA is second in the NE-10, led by a 0.58 ERA from Barone in 36.0 innings, along with a 1.56 ERA from Lavallee in 31.1 innings and a spotless mark from Atherton in 1.2 innings. Their .960 team fielding percentage is fourth in the conference.
 
SCOUTING ROLLINS
Rollins hits .265 as a team, which is eighth in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). Rollins is fifth in the league in slugging percentage with a mark of .386, while also being eighth in the conference in OBP with a .351 mark. Middlebrook is the team's leader in batting average with a mark of .356 and she is also one of three Tars to be hitting above .300 on the season. Davis (.337) and Talia Kentoffio (.317) are the others. Rollins has a 2.66 ERA on the season, which is ninth in the SSC. Street has a team-best 1.80 ERA, while her and Summers are tied to lead the team in wins with eight. The Tars also have a team fielding percentage of .957, which is eighth in the conference.
 
SCOUTING POST
The Eagles are hitting just .183 as a team on the year, while also sporting a .225 slugging percentage and a .314 OBP. Sara Selimovski (.500) and Demi Rivera (.333) are the only Eagles with batting averages over .300, while Selmovski is the team's leader in both slugging percentage (.667) and OBP (.571). Post owns the fifth-best ERA in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a mark of 3.50. //Brianna Koref and Bridget Betley have not given up a run in a combined nine innings, while Brianna Rotunno owns a 2.33 ERA through three innings. The Eagles are the second-best fielding team in the CACC with a fielding percentage of .966.
 
SCOUTING SLIPPERY ROCK
As a team, Slippery Rock owns a .280 batting average, a .390 slugging percentage and a .361 OBP. Kailey Myers is the team's leading hitter with a .429 average, along with three others who are hitting at least .300 on the season. Myers's .643 slugging percentage and .529 OBP also lead the team. Slippery Rock's .290 ERA is the second-best in the PSAC, led by a 0.67 mark from Shumaker through 21.0 innings this season. Shumaker's mark is second in the conference, and the lowest among pitchers that have allowed earned runs this season. Dawson's .278 ERA is second on the team, while Andria Copelli owns a 3.75 mark. Slippery Rock's .964 fielding percentage is also sixth in the PSAC.
 
SCOUTING WAYNE STATE
The Warriors finished the 2017 season ranked No. 19 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll with a record of 40-16. So far on the season, they have a .325 batting average, which is second in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Their .405 slugging percentage along with their .373 OBP are fourth-best in the conference. Among everyday players, Brooke Turkalj leads the team with a .444 batting average which is fifth individually in the league, while McClounie's .741 slugging percentage and Lucas's .485 OBP lead the team. McClounie's slugging percentage is tied for fourth in the GLIAC, while Lucas's OBP is sixth in the league. Wayne State's 2.17 ERA is second in the conference, while Kressler's 0.95 ERA through 22.0 innings is second individually in the league. The Warriors are also fourth in the league with a .962 fielding percentage.
 
SCOUTING SIOUX FALLS (S.D.)
Sioux Falls (S.D.) is hitting .245 as a team, has a slugging percentage of .291 and an OBP of .330. Among everyday players, Megan Peterson leads the Cougars with a .346 batting average. Three Cougars have a slugging percentage of at least .500, while three players also have an OBP of at least .400. Sioux Falls (S.D.) also owns a respectable 3.27 ERA, which is seventh in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Three Cougars own ERA marks under 3.00, combining for the team's three wins and one complete game. Sioux Falls (S.D.) is also the best fielding team in the NSIC with a mark of .978.
 
SCOUTING NORTHWOOD
The Timberwolves lead the GLIAC in batting average (.336), slugging percentage (.496) and OBP (.394). Castellon leads the team with a .455 batting average which is fourth in the conference, and she is one of six hitters with at least a .400 batting average. Five others are hitting at least .300 on the season. Torriya Gray-Baker's .741 slugging percentage leads the team and is tied for fourth in the conference, while Castellon's .478 OBP is eighth in the league. Northwood's 3.33 team ERA is fifth in the conference, led by a 2.21 ERA over 19.0 innings from Frank. Taylor Wright (2.60) is the other pitcher with an ERA under 3.00 on the season. Northwood's .959 fielding percentage is also fifth in the league.
 
SCOUTING PURDUE-NORTHWEST
Purdue-Northwest is hitting .226 as a team, slugging .339 and has an OBP of .315. Kyleigh Payne's .458 batting average leads the team and is third in the GLIAC, while she and Samme Miller (.345) are the only members of the Pride hitting over .300. Both Payne's .917 slugging percentage and .606 OBP lead the conference. The Pride has the fourth-best ERA in the GLIAC at 2.61, led by a 1.40 ERA over 10 innings by Mia Stevens. She is one of three pitchers with an ERA under 3.00, as Courtney Blackwell owns a 2.36 mark and Samantha Burgard owns a 2.55 ERA. Purdue-Northwest also owns a .934 fielding percentage on the season.
