STORYLINE
The Huskies look to start off play at home with two games against local foe East Stroudsburg.

The games will be the 92

rd meetings between Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg, with BU holding an 80-10 lead with one tie.
LAST MEETING
BU and ESU split their last doubleheader back on Apr. 20, 2016 with Bloomsburg taking game one 3-1 and East Stroudsburg winning the second game 2-1.
Bloomsburg scored first with Valerie Carcasses reaching on a fielder's choice that scored
Mallory Tomaschik (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) before East Stroudsburg tied the game in the fourth. Bloomsburg would score two more runs in the fifth, one on a
Taylor Parker (Dewart, Pa./Warrior Run) RBI triple that scored
Natalie Quinlan (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) and the other on a wild pitch that allowed Parker to score. The Huskies scored three runs on six hits while committing one error. Parker and Erica Keen each had two hits in the win, while Quinlan and Tomaschik had the other two hits. Parker and Carcasses each drove in runs in the win. Parker (11-1) also got the win in the circle, allowing one run on one hit while punching out nine.
In game two, East Stroudsburg scored one in the first, while keeping Bloomsburg off the board until the fifth. A sacrifice fly from
Taylor Winkelman (Springfield, Pa/Springfield) scored
Anna McElroy (Jessup, Pa./Valley View) in the fifth inning to tie the game for BU, before a homer in the seventh from East Stroudsburg secured the win. Parker and Tomaschik each had two hits in the win, while six others recorded hits in the loss. Winkelman drove in the lone run in the contest. Sarah Bortner (13-4) took the loss in the circle, allowing two runs on five hits in 6.1 innings while walking one and striking out five.
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies dropped their two final games in the Florida PFX tournament back on Saturday (Mar. 17), losing 2-0 to Northwood and 12-2 to Purdue-Northwest in five innings.
Against Northwood, the game went scoreless into the fifth inning. To that point, there were three combined hits and four total baserunners. Northwood broke through in the top of the fifth against
Tara Baney (Howard, Pa./Bellefonte), who had held the Timberwolves hitless to that point. A leadoff single by Abby Joseph followed by a sacrifice bunt from Torriya Gray-Baker left pinch runner Taylor Schmitt at second with one out. Sydni Culps would single up the middle to bring home the game's first run, advancing to second on the throw home. Jordyn Look would pinch run at second base and score unearned with two outs on a costly error in the infield. Northwood's Taylor Wright would match Baney inning for inning, allowing just four hits to get the shutout. Winkelman collected two hits in the loss, while
Kalynn Wheeland (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) and
Erin Smith (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) each had one hit in the contest. Smith also drew the lone walk in the contest for the Huskies. Baney (1-3) took a tough loss in the circle allowing two runs, one earned on three hits while striking out one. She held Northwood off the bases completely for the first four innings.
Against Purdue-Northwest, the Pride scored four runs in the first, three runs in the second, two in the third and another three in the fourth to pull away for the win. Bloomsburg's two runs came on solo home runs in the second from Wheeland and
Nicolette Ray (Abington, Pa./Abington). Wheeland and Ray were two of the six Huskies to record hits in the game.
Alyssa Davies (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) (2-3) took the loss in the circle allowing four runs, two earned on four hits in the first inning. Smith,
Abby Wild (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) and
Balee Leeser (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) also registered relief appearances in the loss.
East Stroudsburg dropped their last two games to Chowan 6-2 and to West Liberty 10-6 back on Mar. 11 in Salem, Va.
Against Chowan, Stroudsburg scored the first run in the second on a RBI single from Sofia Cecchin that scored Kaitlyn Caleen, before Chowan took a 2-1 lead on a run in the third and a run in the fourth. The Hawks would pull away with three runs in the fifth and one run in the sixth, before the Warriors scored one unearned run on a sacrifice fly from Madison Vicendese that scored MacKenzie Lewis. The Warriors scored two runs on six hits while committing two errors in the loss. Lewis led the offense with two hits, while four others also notched hits in the game. Vicendese and Cecchin drove in runs in the loss. Angelica Dark (4-6) took the loss in the circle allowing six runs, four earned on 11 hits in 5.2 innings. She walked one and struck out four. Erica Molinaro worked 1.1 innings of scoreless relief, only allowing one walk.
West Liberty struck first in a big way with five runs in the first inning, before East Stroudsburg would get three runs in the bottom of the third. A RBI single from Heather Visco scored Lewis, before a two-RBI single from Vicendese would score Mary Wallick and Visco. West Liberty would go on to score two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh, before ESU would put up three in a rally effort in the bottom of the seventh. A RBI double from Caleen would score Visco, before a single from Ashley Spencer would score Caleen. Rachel Grabowski would single home Spencer for ESU's final run of the game. The Warriors scored six runs on 13 hits while committing three errors in the loss. Four players had two hits each, while another five players had hone hit apiece. Dark (4-7) got hung with the loss in the circle, allowing five runs, one earned on two hits in 0.2 innings. She issued two walks in the inning. Taylor Keeney fired 5.1 innings of relief, allowing two runs on seven hits while walking and striking out four each. Molinaro also tossed one inning of relief allowing three runs, two earned on two hits while allowing one walk.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies are hitting .292 as a team, are fourth in the conference in slugging percentage (.463) and also own a .332 on-base percentage (OBP). Venokur leads the team and is eighth in the conference individually with a .481 batting average, while Wheeland is second on the team and 11
th in the conference with a .463 batting average. The Huskies are sixth in the conference in doubles (22), have one triple on the season and are third in the conference with 11 home runs on the season.
Maggie Hall (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown) leads the team with four doubles, while Smith has the lone triple on the season and Wheeland's four long balls are the highest total on the team. The Huskies have pitched to a 4.90 earned run average (ERA), and opposing teams are hitting .311 against them. Baney owns a team-best 2.04 ERA in nine appearances with three starts totaling 34.1 innings. Wild has a team-high three wins on the season with a 5.86 ERA in 10 appearances with four starts in 28.2 innings. Davies also has two wins in seven starts on the season Smith and Leeser have also contributed innings so far on the season. Bloomsburg also has a .942 fielding percentage on the season.
SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG
The Warriors are second in the conference in hitting as a team with a .324 batting average, seventh in the conference with a .410 slugging percentage and third with a .371 OBP. Wallick and Caleen are tied for the team lead with a .375 average, while another three players are hitting over .300. Caleen's .550 slugging percentage leads the team, while Wallick is the team's on-base machine with a .466 OBP. ESU is second in the conference in doubles (29) and has also hit one triple and three home runs on the season. East Stroudsburg's 3.16 team ERA is seventh in the PSAC, while opponents hit .292 against their pitching staff. Taylor Keeney leads the staff with a .214 ERA through seven appearances with four starts totaling 36.0 innings. Dark has the most wins on the team with four. Through 55.1 innings, Dark owns a 3.42 ERA with five complete games. Molinaro and Lily Moresco have also contributed a total of 10.1 innings in the circle on the season.
