Huskies Power Past Seton Hill for Third Straight Win

GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team used a strong second half to propel past Seton Hill 9-8 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action on Wednesday (Mar. 28).

Seton Hill began the scoring just 32 seconds in with an unassisted goal from Taylor Fox-Trudel, before Katelyn Cressman scored the second goal of the game unassisted less than nine minutes in to push Seton Hill's lead to 2-0. The Huskies got on the board just under 10 minutes into the game when Lindsey Coyle (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) scored her sixth of the season unassisted. Just 1:14 later, Cailyn Gormley (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) got on the board with her 16th marker of the year to tie the game at two. Approaching the halfway point of the first half, Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) netted her first of the game with 15:37 to play in the half before Olivia Caragein scored with 14:14 left in the half to tie the game yet again. Seton Hill would take the lead for the remainder of the half less than a minute later when Mackenzie Kilduff scored from Nellie Phillips with 13:27 to go. The Griffins led 4-3 at the break.

Gormley began the second half by tying the game with her second goal less than four minutes into the frame, before Tracy Rusen (Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) gave the Huskies a brief one-goal lead with her 14th of the season less than eight minutes into the second. Fox-Trudel would tie the game just 16 seconds later, before Bloomsburg would score the next three goals over a six-minute span. Anna Dempsey (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) padded the Huskies lead further with her sixth of the season with 14:38 left from Kelleher, taking an 8-5 lead into the final 10 minutes. Cressman would score her second of the game unassisted with 6:39 to play, before Gormley would net her hat trick goal and her 18th of the season with 3:32 to play.
