LAST MEETING
Lock Haven swept Bloomsburg back on Apr. 6 winning game one 3-2 and winning game two 9-5. Bloomsburg started the scoring in the bottom of the first with Taylor Winkelman (Springfield, Pa/Springfield)'s first long ball of the season to take a 1-0 lead. Lock Haven would take the lead with two runs in the third and pad it with one in the fourth, beginning with a two-run shot from Moriah Lindsey that scored Casey Carpenter. In the fourth inning, it was Carpenter notching a sacrifice fly that scored Bryann Hilty to put the Bald Eagles up 3-1. The Huskies matched the Bald Eagles in the frame with one run, but were held off the board after that. A RBI double from Marissa Shelhamer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) scored Emily Mayhew (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) to make the game 3-2, before the final three innings were scoreless for both teams.

The Huskies scored two runs on six hits while committing one error in game one. Mayhew paced the offense in game one with two hits, while four others recorded hits in the ball game. Winkelman and Shelhamer drove in runs, while Mayhew and Winkelman both scored once. Alyssa Davies (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) (3-4) got the loss in the circle, firing a complete game allowing three runs on four hits while walking one and punching out seven.

In game two, Lock Haven jumped out to a 6-0 lead over the first three innings scoring three times in the second and three times in the third. The game would go scoreless into the sixth inning, as the Huskies were held hitless for the first five innings. Erin Smith (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) would lead off the sixth by breaking up the no-hit bid with a single to left center, before Winkelman singled to left center to advance Smith 60 feet. With two on and no outs, Maggie Hall (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown) lifted a ball to left that was muffed by Lock Haven's left fielder and left the bases loaded with still no one out. That set the stage for Mayhew, who lined a single off of Lock Haven's pitcher Kayla Gee to score Smith and get the Huskies on the board. After Gee left the game due to injury, game one's winning pitcher Bekah Slattery was called on in relief. Kalynn Wheeland (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) greeted Slattery with a grand slam over the scoreboard in center field to make it 6-5 with still no one out. Lock Haven would pad their lead further with three two-out runs in the top of the seventh. After Carpenter drew a two-out walk, Slattery helped her cause with a RBI double to center field to make it 7-5. RBI singles from Traci Kromko and Lindsey would pad the Lock Haven lead to make it the final score.

Bloomsburg scored five runs on six hits while committing one error in game two. Mayhew again led the offense with two hits, while four others recorded one hit apiece in the loss. Bloomsburg picked up a pivotal Central division sweep over Mansfield on the road back on Saturday (Apr. 14), taking game one 8-0 in six innings and game two 6-3. The Huskies got game one started in a big way, when Emily Mayhew (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) launched her fifth dinger of the season to put the Huskies up 1-0. Wheeland would follow it up with a one-out single to right, before the second out was recorded. An infield single from Emily Getz (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) moved Wheeland to second, before Abbey Remley (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) drove home the second run of the inning on a RBI single to left center that scored Wheeland.
