STORYLINE
The Huskies look to even their overall record and keep their conference winning streak alive when they battle East Stroudsburg on Sunday (Apr. 8). The Huskies currently sit in first place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East, while East Stroudsburg looks for their first conference win.
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will be the 37
thall-time meeting between Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg. BU leads the all-time series 35-1.
LAST MEETING
Bloomsburg defeated East Stroudsburg 7-2 last season on Apr. 5, 2017 at the Burt Reese Tennis Center. Bloomsburg won two out of three doubles matches and five out of six singles matches to get the victory.
Cassidy Calimer (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Absegami) and
Vitoria Nery (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Educandário Santa Maria Goretti) won their No. 1 doubles match 8-0, before
Anna Newcomer (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) and
Catherine Garrity (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) won 8-4 at No. 2.
Cassie Wentz (Windber, Pa./Winber Area) and
Lizzy Schmitt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) dropped their No. 3 doubles match 8-5. In singles play, Calimer swept the No. 1 match 6-4 6-1 while Nery won in straight sets 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2. Garrity dropped her No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-2 before Wentz won at No. 4 in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.
Chloe Berridge (York, Pa./Dallastown) swept the No. 5 singles match 6-0, 6-3 before Sienna Cerra closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6.
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies blanked Shippensburg 9-0 for the second time this season on Thursday (Apr. 5). The Huskies swept doubles play before going on to sweep all six singles matches.
Giovanna Bonito (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) and Garrity blanked Gabbie Binder and Kaylin Gallagher 8-0 at No. 1 doubles, before
Isabella Sarquis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Metodo) and Cerra beat Daisy Rundio and Hannah Coath 8-4 at No. 2. Berridge and
Cara Eschenmann (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) completed the sweep in doubles play with an 8-4 win at No. 3 over Megan Moorhead and Vicky Galanti. In singles play, Nery blanked Binder 6-0, 6-0 at No.1 before Bonito beat Gallagher 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2. Sarquis would defeat Rundio in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, before Berridge knocked off Coath 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4.

East Stroudsburg defeated Holy Family 9-0 at home back on Saturday (Mar. 31) in non-conference action. The Warriors swept all three doubles matches without losing a game before taking all six singles matches. The tandems of Marina Zardet and Aubrianna Stetina (No. 1), Elizabeth Bartoli and Devin Presby (No. 2) and Amanda Jackson and Quinn McCluskey (No. 3) all blanked their Holy Family opponents 8-0 in doubles play. Zardet kept the shutout streak going in singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1, before Presby picked up a 6-1, 6-1 sweep at No. 2. Stetina won at No. 3 in straight sets 6-0, 6-2 before McCluskey earned an 8-0 win at No. 4. Bartoli picked up an 8-1 win at No. 5, before Lauren Morrissey won by retirement at No. 6.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies own a combined 28-18 doubles record on the season, as well as a 51-35 combined singles record. The tandem of Calimer and Nery has a team-high eight doubles wins, while Bonito and Garrity as a team have four wins. Cerra and Sarquis have three wins as a doubles tandem, four other doubles pairs have two wins apiece on the season and another four tandems each have one doubles win. Wentz leads the team with an 9-3 record in singles play, while Nery has eight wins on the year and Berridge and Bonito each have seven. Sarquis has six singles wins while four others have three wins each and Eschenmann has two singles wins.
SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG
The Warriors have played to a 19-26 combined record in doubles and a 35-48 combined singles record. The team of Jackson and McCluskey own a team-best 8-3 doubles record, while Bartoli and Presby have six wins in doubles. Stetina and Zardet have three wins as a doubles team, while Ivanna Pittman and Brianna Young have one doubles win as a pair. Zardet is the team's singles win leader with seven, while Morrissey has six wins and Bartoli and Stetina each have five. McCluskey and Presby each have three, Young has two and three others each have one singles win.
