STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team, winners of two straight over Mercyhurst and West Chester, will step out of conference play on Wednesday afternoon to host Daemen College at Steph Pettit Stadium. The Wildcats are coming off of a 1-0 victory over Roberts Wesleyan last Saturday.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg won the only previous meeting between the two schools on September 10, 2017 - a 5-4 victory in Amherst, New York. The Huskies trailed 3-1 just 17 minutes in before getting a late first-half goal from Brian Kilcoyne (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) to cut the lead at the break. Then, trailing 4-3 in the 58th minute, Kristopher Gross (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) scored to tie the contest at 4-4 and then Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) completed the rally with a goal in the 83rd minute to win it. Mike Bazadona III (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) scored the other two goals for the Huskies in the win while Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York) added a pair of assists.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg snapped a four-game losing streak in a big way over the weekend with a 4-2 win at Mercyhurst on Friday and a 2-1 victory over West Chester on Sunday. Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York), Evan Novian (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield), and Kacper Grycel (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) each scored their first collegiate goals in the win over the Lakers while Mike Bazadona III (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) also scored as Bloomsburg beat Mercyhurst for just the second time in 19 meetings between the two schools. Then, on Sunday, the Huskies snapped West Chester's 22-conference match unbeaten streak when Tyler Madeira (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) scored twice in the span of 1:54 late in the second half to stun the Golden Rams, 2-1. Madeira was named the PSAC Athlete of the Week for his efforts as he scored two goals and added two assists against Mercyhurst over the weekend. He entered the weekend with two goals and two assists in his first 29 career games. The junior leads the team with three goals and two assists for eight points this season. He is tied for ninth in the PSAC in goals and is tied for seventh in the league in assists.  Luckenbaugh is second on the team with one goal and two assists for four points while Bazadona and Thomas King (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) each have a goal and an assist for three points. Matt Goodall (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall), Kevin Rodriguez (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove), Novian, and Grycel have also scored goals on the year. Brock Gould (York, Pa./Red Lion) has started each of the last three matches in goal and is 2-1 with a 1.67 goals against average and an .815 save percentage. Trey Orner (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) started the first five contests and is 2-3 with a 1.80 goals against average and a .710 save percentage on the year.

SCOUTING DAEMEN
Daemen is 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the East Coast Conference to start the season and is coming off of a 1-0 conference win over Roberts Weslyan last Saturday. The Wildcats are 1-1 against teams from the PSAC this season - they defeated Gannon, 3-2, back on September 10 and then dropped a 3-1 decision at Lock Haven on September 18. Daemen has been outscored, 13-10, through seven matches this season and has been outshot by a 90-70 margin. Giacomo Bacigalupo leads the team in scoring with two goals and two assists for six points. Anthony Cupello and Niklas Ringdahl Bohlin each have two goals and one assist for five points on the year. Noah Keem and Finn Krueger have added two goals apiece for the Wildcats. Philipp Schmidt has started all seven matches in goal and is 4-3 with two shutouts, a 1.72 goals against average, and a .700 save percentage.
 
UP NEXT
Bloomsburg will return to action on Wednesday, October 3, when it travels to Shippenburg University to battle the Raiders in a conference matchup. Start time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
