BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team scored 64 points and missed only eight shots in the second half as the Huskies powered their way past visiting Wilmington University, 109-87, on Wednesday night at the Nelson Field House in a non-conference matchup. Bloomsburg improved to 5-7 overall while the Wildcats saw their record fall to 6-8 on the season.

Six players finished in double figures for the Huskies led by freshman sensation Travis Elmore (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) who finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Freshman Sekou Fofana (Upper Darby, Pa./Springfield Commonwealth) added 14 points and six assists in just 16 minutes and sophomore Ethan Houston (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) snuck into double digits with 11 points in 18 minutes off the bench.

Bloomsburg shot 23-of-31 (74.2%) in the second half which included 9-of-13 (69.2%) from long range as it broke open an eight-point advantage at halftime with its 64-point outburst over the final twenty minutes. For the game, the Huskies shot a season-best 41-of-66 (62.1%) from the field, hit a season-high 15 three-pointers on 25 attempts (60.0%), and posted a season-best 29 assists in the victory. Bloomsburg also held a whopping margin on the glass, 47-18.

The Huskies never trailed as Saxton nailed his first of four three-pointers less than a minute into the contest for the initial points of the game. Bloomsburg built the advantage to 24-12 after a triple from freshman William Melson (Allentown, Pa./Dieruff) with 10:44 left in the opening half before the Wildcats chipped away and eventually tied the game at 30-30 with 5:12 left in the first stanza. Bloomsburg, however, went on a 13-2 run over the next four minutes to take a 43-32 lead with 1:14 left and settled for a 45-37 advantage at the break. Saxton had five points during the spurt while Elmore and redshirt senior Darius Robinson-Wallace (Philadelphia, Pa./Delaware Valley Charter) added three points. Mauras accounted for the other two points on a pair of foul shots.

The shorthanded Wildcats would not go away, however, as they cut the Huskies' advantage to 62-56 after a layup from Thomas Farrior with 12:52 remaining in regulation. But, Bloomsburg outscored Wilmington 25-13 over the next five minutes to extend the lead to 87-69 with 7:26 left. Fofana scored 10 of his 14 points during the run.
