STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg women's tennis team hosts a pair of dual matches of the season as Clarion University and Edinboro University come to the Burt Reese Tennis Courts on Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12. The Huskies are 1-0 so far this fall after defeating Chestnut Hill College on Sunday, September 29. Clarion is 0-1 on the year after falling to Westminster College (PA) on September 7, 9-0.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Huskies own a 8-1 advantage in all-time series. Friday's meeting will mark the first meeting between the two teams in a dual meet since the 2013-14 season. Bloomsburg won that meeting 7-2. Bloomsburg holds a 6-1 all-time series lead against Edinboro.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies are coming off of the 2019 PSAC Women's Singles/Doubles championships last weekend. Seniors
Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and
Cassidy Calimer (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Absegami) made it to the sweet sixteen round of the singles bracket while Callmer and Victoria Nery fell in the first round of doubles action. In their only dual match so far, Bloomsburg won two of the three doubles matches to take 2-1 lead into singles action. Junior
Giovanna Bonito (Pindamonhangaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino), freshman Luana Bernadi, and
Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) all picked up singles wins for the Huskies in the opening dual match.
SCOUTING CLARION
The Golden Eagles dropped their only dual match of the year 9-0 to Westminster. Katie Benson and Alexis Strouse each competed at the 2019 PSAC Singles/Doubles Championships this past weekend. Benson and Strouse fell in doubles action 8-4 while each dropped their singles match. Benson fell 6-0, 6-0, while Strouse dropped her singles match 6-1, 6-0.
SCOUTING EDINBORO
The Fighting Scots come into Saturday's match with a 0-3 record in dual meets this fall. Torye Calleja, Â Anna Zak, and Morgan Bender have accounted for Edinboro's single match wins. Lilly Schmidt and Calleja won in the first round of the PSAC Doubles bracket while Schmidt made it to the second round of the singles bracket as well.

The Huskies continue their homestand next weekend as well as they host Davis & Elkins at 10:00 am in Bloomsburg.
