STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University field hockey team will be looking for its first conference victory of the season when it hosts IUP at Steph Pettit Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies are 3-8 overall and 0-3 in the PSAC while IUP is coming off back to back loses coming at the hands of top-ranked Millersville and Mansfield and is 5-6 on the year with a 1-3 slate in conference play.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against IUP 48-10-1. The Huskies are 12-2 in the last 14 matchups with their only losses coming in non-conference action during that stretch. The two teams met earlier this season in a non-conference game at IUP with the Crimson Hawks coming out on top by a 2-0 final score. Georgiana Chiavacci and Blaise Cugini both scored for IUP, who out shot the Huskies 8-3 in the contest at George P. Miller Stadium.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg enters the contest with a 3-8 overall record and an 0-3 mark in the PSAC. The Huskies are coming off of consecutive loses to #2 West Chester, 3-0, and an OT loss, 2-1, against Limestone College. Bloomsburg has now played in four overtime games and, overall, is 1-3 in games decided in extra frames this season. SophomoreÂ

Abby Shaffer (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin)Â has started each of the last 10 games. She is 3-7 with 2.51 goals against average and a .709 save percentage. She is fourth in the league in saves per game (5.60). JuniorÂ
Hannah Barnard (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal)Â is coming off a season and career high in which she recorded 14 saves against #2 West Chester.
SCOUTING IUP
The Crimson Hawks are 5-6 overall and are coming off a pair of loses to #1 Millersville and Mansfield. Brianna Lubarsky leads the team with 11 points this season behind a team-best five goals and one assist. Blaise Cugini and Georgiana Chiavacci each have three goals for the Crimson Hawks while Cugini leads the squad with four assists. Lubarsky is third in the PSAC with three game-winning goals this year. Lexi Ciano has started all 11 games in cage for the Crimson Hawks and is 5-5 on the year with a 1.39 goals against average and a .674 save percentage. Ciano is sixth in the PSAC averaging 2.64 saves per game.

The Huskies hit the road for a three-game road trip kicking off at East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, October 16. Bloomsburg will travel to Seton Hill (Saturday, October 19) and Millersville (Tuesday, October 22) during the road trip.
