Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team hosted Clarion in its second dual meet of the fall season and after a doubles sweep, cruised to a 6-1 win, Friday afternoon. The Huskies improved to 2-0 on the year while Clarion fell to 0-2 on the season.
The duo of
Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and
Giovanna Bonito (Pindamonhangaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) at No. 2 doubles and
Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and
Isabella Sarquis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Metodo) at No. 3 doubles clinched the doubles point for the Huskies with a pair of 6-0 wins.
Cassidy Calimer (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Absegami) and
Luana Bernardi (Aruja, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) finished off the sweep with a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles.
In singles action,
Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) worked a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 1 spot while Calimer defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Cassidy Capoferri (No. 4), Sarquis (No. 5), and
Devon DiCampli (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) (No. 6) all won their singles matches 6-2, 6-0 for the match win.
Bloomsburg hosts Edinboro tomorrow as the Huskies continue their fall dual matches. Bloomsburg and the Fighting Scots will square off tomorrow at 12:00 p.m.
