EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University field hockey team fell to the second-ranked East Stroudsburg University Warriors, 2-0, Thursday afternoon at Whitenight Field in East Stroudsburg, Pa. The Huskies dropped to 3-10 on the year and 0-5 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play. The Warriors improved to 13-1 on the year and 6-0 in PSAC action.

Hannah Barnard (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) played all 60 minutes in cage for the Huskies and made nine stops for the game, including four in the third quarter. The nine saves were the second-highest total in Barnard's career, topped only by her 14 saves against #1 West Chester last week.

East Stroudsburg got on the board late in the first quarter as Jada Martin scored off a rebound to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead through one period. Senior
Tesa Hoffman (Freeburg, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) got the Huskies' only shot of the day off as she put a strike on cage at the 27:22 mark off a penalty corner but was turned away by the ESU goalie, Maddie Richie.

The Warriors pushed their lead to 2-0 late in the fourth quarter as Celeste Veenstra scored with less than six minutes to play.

Barnard took the loss for the Huskies as she fell to 0-3 on the year while Richie needed just one save to improve to 13-1 for the year and post her eighth shutout of the season.

The Huskies return to action on Saturday, October 19 as they travel to PSAC opponent Seton Hill University for an 11:00 a.m. contest. The Griffins come into the contest 1-9 on the year and 0-5 in the PSAC.
