SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. – The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team got back in the win column as the Huskies defeated Shepherd, 3-1, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action, Wednesday afternoon. The Huskies improved to 6-8 on the year and 5-4 in the PSAC East while Shepherd fell to 2-11-1 on the year and 0-7-1 in conference play.
The Huskies out-shot the Rams 12-8 on the day, including 11-5 on goal as they built a 2-0 lead in the first half and never looked back.
Junior
Thomas King (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) kicked things off for Bloomsburg with his first goal of the season just 7:22 into play thanks to a successful penalty kick. The Huskies next shot in the game came at 20:56 and senior
Mike Bazadona III (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) made the most of it with his second goal of the season.
The Huskies out-shot the Rams 2-0 in the final 25 minutes of the half but had to settle for the 2-0 lead at the break.

Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York) pushed the Bloomsburg lead to 3-0 just under seven minutes into the second half thanks to an assist from freshman

Shepherd got a pair of shots on goal in the 65
th minute but redshirt freshman keeper
Nathan Slotnick (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) turned both away. Bazadona's goal in the 21
st minute turned out to be the difference maker as the Rams found the back of the net thanks to a goal from Justin Daniels with less than 17 minutes to play in regulation to cut the lead to 3-1.
Bloomsburg got two more shots off while the Rams put a pair of shots on goal but neither team could score as the game ended 3-1 in favor of the visiting Huskies,
Slotnick finished the day with four saves for the win while Billy Wood of Shepherd took the loss after making eight stops and allowing three goals.
The Huskies will wrap up their short road trip as they head to Lock Haven University on Saturday for a 7:00 pm PSAC East contest. The Bald Eagles come into the match 6-8 on the year and 3-5 in PSAC East play. Lock Haven is coming off a 1-0 loss to #20 West Chester Wednesday afternoon.
