THROUGH THE ARCHIVES with BLOOMSBURG ARCHIVIST BOB DUNKELBERGER
- The Huskies have defeated Millersville 20 consecutive times, the second longest winning streak against a single opponent in school history, although the five-point win on Saturday was the closest in the series since a 23-20 BU win in 2004. The record is 28 versus Cheyney from 1990-2017. The other streaks in the top five in program history are 18 in a row from 1993 to 2010 against Kutztown, 15 straight over Mansfield from 1948 to 1962, and 14 consecutive versus the Mountaineers from 1993 to 2006. The streaks versus Cheyney and the more recent one with Mansfield both ended when the schools dropped their football programs.
Â
- The victory on Saturday was the 600th in program history, with Bloomsburg's all-time record in football in 1,092 games since 1892 now standing at 600-460-32. All milestone wins in school history had come at home until the 600th at Millersville. It took 139 games to reach 100 victories since #500, a 55-6 win over Cheyney in 2007. The fastest to 100 wins took place between #400, a 64-0 victory in 1996 against Lock Haven, and the 2007 encounter with Cheyney, taking 133 games. The previous milestone wins occurred in 1917 with #100; in 1950 for #200; and #300 in 1974, the dedication game for Redman Stadium.

Cameron Shollenberger's (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove Area) 47-yard field goal against Millersville is the tenth known field goal of 47 or more yards in school history, and the first since Tyler Smith had one of 47 at the Marauders in 2015. Seven of the ten have come since 2009, the only known earlier ones being Earl Brotherston's drop-kick from 47 yards out against Shippensburg in 1922, a 48-yarder by Bob Hughes in 1974 at Shippensburg, and Pete McKenna's 50-yard field goal versus East Stroudsburg in 1979. The school record is 52 yards by Dan Fisher against Edinboro at Redman Stadium in 2012, and the following year he had one of 47 versus Stonehill. Jon Koenig has the most at three, successfully converting attempts of 47, 49, and 50 yards, all in 2009.
