Women's Tennis Completes Undefeated Trip to Orlando With 6-1 Win Over Ithaca

ORLANDO, FL – The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team made it a perfect 6-for-6 on their spring break trip to Orlando with a 6-1 victory over Ithaca College Thursday afternoon. The Huskies are now 7-0 on the 2018-19 season.

Leading 1-0 in the doubles competition, Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and Giovanna Bonito (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) would give Bloomsburg the doubles team point with a 6-1 win over Jane Alkhazov and Sara Steinberg at #2.

Cassie Wentz (Windber, Pa./Winber Area) would extend the Huskies lead with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Rel Klein at #5 singles, and Cassidy Calimer (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Absegami) and Bonito would each notch wins at #2 and #3, respectively, to lock up the victory for Bloomsburg. Ithaca's lone singles win came from Brianna Ruback, who defeated Capoferri 6-0, 4-6, 10-3 at #1 singles.

The Huskies return home on Thursday, March 28, to host Fairleigh Dickinson. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m.
